Credit card worries

I want to add my card to xbox one but im worried that they will take funds without my permission as ive heard before

How do i prevent this

My old credit card got charged by mistake

If the new credit card links to the same financial account as the old credit card, no worries. They honored it, all is well. You may want to call up Xbox Customer Support and talk to their billing department to move your subscription to the new credit
card so you can get the old one out of the account, though, just to make sure. There's also the chance it hasn't billed yet, and if billing the old credit card WOULD cause a problem, then they can move the pending charge over to the new credit card before
it's processed to your card company.

 

If its for Xbox live just remember to turn off automatic renewal plus if it is for Xbox live you'd be better off using CD Keys you can get a years membership for just over £20

If its to buy games they won't take anything unless you buy something

 

^^ This. I've had my debit card linked to my account for 12 years & never had anything taken when it shouldn't of been.

 

Just use a credit card, then you covered for any losses unless they can prove you were negligent or complicit in fraud. I pay for pretty much everything online on Credit card for this reason. If they rob your debit card you have very little protection.
