Credit card purchase postcode

I try to buy Gamepass to Xbox, and it comes up with "incorrectly formatted postcode" what is the correct format

Can you go to https://live.xbox.com/Account/BillingAccountInformation and check which country your account is actually registered to?

Then use the postcode for that country. Make sure to use the credit card registered for that specific country as well.

Make sure you have the correct country set in the settings as it may be the format of your postcode might not match that expected from the settings.

If you are in the UK leave a space in the middle.

I am in a little special situation.

I am at present living in France ( hooked up to french servers) Post code 06140

my windows account is registered in Florida. post code Fl 33143

I have tried to use both French and US credit card with the appropriate postcode

Both won't go past the error message

Generally this error is encountered because "you have entered an incorrect billing address or postcode that doesn’t match the billing address or code used by your credit card company."

Are you able to make sure these match?
