credit card issues

Ok so, my credit card expired. my life, as im sure is the case for many, is a bit hectic and i forgot to update the details of my new card, and so my subscription to gold ended. then xbox tried to take a payment from my old card details for another months
gold subscription, failed, and i get a block on my card. as soon as i realised this i rang MS and got them to take the payment from my new card and clear my debt. However now my card number is blacklisted and cant be used for subscriptions. I spoke to an xbox
helper, and was told that i could use another card ( i only have 1 card) (not sure how many cards MS think i should have?). Xbox have happily taken many £s since in fifa points from the banned card, but i cannot play online now because i have no subs. how
is this possible, that the same card can be used to buy fifa points but not for subscription? and how is it fair that i pay out money for fifa points but then cant play fifa online? Xbox please help me to sort this or playstation may finally look like a good
alternative place to spend my hard earned money

Problems Buying Online

I used to get an error code when I wished to buy but then I found out that it was because of some issue with my credit card. I contacted my credit card company and they did an online verification and then I was able to make my purchase.

 

Credit Card issues

Chiming in with a "me too". I have all my subscriptions on my Visa debit, I've used it to buy content before, and it works on other accounts. It did start working again, so it might be an on-and-off thing.

When it doesn't work, I tend to go to Amazon.com. If you're in the US, you can buy points codes there and they'll generate the code as soon as the purchase clears. It's *almost* as good as buying directly.

 

Sorry, but since this is a billing issue, you will need to continue working with support.

 

well that'd be great but they say they cant help so, if they cant help what would you suggest?

It seems that the pending charge was being declined for a long time because a credit card can't be blacklisted unless that many days have passed without a successful payment. Also, Xbox sent notifications that inform you about the declined transactions to
avoid this particular situation. Unfortunately, you contacted Xbox support too late. So maybe you can use prepaid codes to get the subscription.

 

i got no notifications on the declined transactions, if i had i would have sorted it sooner. yes i can use prepaid cards, but i rather use a rolling subscription. it is however better than nothing. thanks
