Credit card information stolen?

Right, while playing a game of Halo 3 last night with two friends and we were in party chat. A bit in these two recent players joined the party and started chatting, pretty straight forward enough, didn't think anything of it. After a couple of minutes
one of the recent players starts going on about how he stole all our credit card information, through "undetectable by Microsoft, 360 firmware". The only information he had on us was just the country we live in, nothing else. I was just curious about this
being at all possible, to steal credit cards off Xbox live accounts through party chat? Thank you.

Please don't post your personal information on a public forum.

If the purchase went through, then there wouldn't be any issues. The information you put on Live is for verification purposes for Microsoft. It won't have any affect on the card itself.

 

Credit Card Information

If your account is gold you can't remove it until your gold runs out. You can however contact support and have them turn off auto renewal. Once your gold runs out you can call them again to have the credit card removed.

 

All of your information is protected on the Xbox LIVE servers. They do not have any special tools to steal your financial information.

 

Exactly as xTye said, your information is completely secure. I think they were just trying to scare you, the only piece of information they have about you is your country, which is usually visible on your profile anyway. You should report this person and
block communications with them as well.

 

Just to add, even if someone gains access to your account they would only be able to see the last 4 digits of the card
