Credit Card got charged after cancelling auto-renew

I cancelled my auto-renew feature last month but got charged by Microsoft yesterday for Xbox Live Gold. Worse still I can't cancel the auto subscription. My dashboard shows me as a Live Gold member and the date of next renewal at 4/6/2015 but when I click
cancel auto-payment the next page shows me as a silver member and hence I am unable to cancel it.

How can I cancel auto-payment and request for a charge reversal?

Gold subscription does not except prepaid cards.edit

I use a prepaid card to pay for my subscription but got an error code when trying to update my subscription. I contacted Tech support and apparently they do not accept prepaid Visa's etc. Microsoft I guess relies on the auto-renew featured a bank in for folks that forget to cancel or change subscription. Atleast my opinion. Apparently they need a bank card or credit card. I personaly don't trust banks or credit card companies for that matter. I thought about purchasing a subscription gift card. Yet a am afraid they will ask me for a credit card for auto-renew. If anyone has had this issue or have a work around let me know.

Use your pre paid card to get a gold sub online somewhere like cdkeys.com or gamedealdaily.com you will get it for a fraction of the cost of paying MS and you can turn off auto renew in the account settings of Xbox.com

You will need to contact support for this to happen. You can call 800) 469-9269 US or Canada or by clicking
support.xbox.com/.../contact-us. They should be able to get this resolved for you.

What davemcfly85 said was correct. Although you need to put your credit card information in to get the free month, you can just cancel the auto-renewal and when the free 30 days are up you will either have to buy a subscription via physical store or use
your credit card to start an auto-renewing subscription.

JUST MAKE SURE that if all you want is the free month, that you cancel that auto-renewal as soon as you can so that your card doesn't get charged after the 30 days are up...

I am trying to cancel my auto-renewal online, which I did not even choose to auto-renew in the first place, and I am not being given the option to cancel. I am being forced to buy a prepaid card or be charged on my credit card. wow.......

Hello,

For Auto-Renews such as EA Access, or Xbox Live require a credit or debit card. (Or PayPal if you have it). The card is not charged if you cancel it in time for only 1 month to be charged.
