Credit account for download Gold games?

Why do I need to enter payment information for download a game with my gold account?

I have 12 months of gold and they ask me for card to download Monkey Island 2 to my xbox one.

Other games do not ask me a credit card number but Monkey Island 2 yes

I mad a mistake trusting someone brought a Xbox one s that wasn't as described as he said.

Unfortunately no credit is on file on the account.

 

XBOX Games with Gold Question.

I have been downloading all the games with gold games.

But my nephew tried and it asked for a credit card.

He doesnt have a credit card hooked up to his account because he's under 18.

How can he download the games with gold without a credit card.

Also he has xbox live gold.

 

Even if it's free, you need a payment method on file in order to download content. The 360 store is set up differently than the store on the One/website and the store on the One/website do not recognize your Microsoft account balance as a valid payment option
for 360 content. So in order to download 360 content without a 360 console, you need a credit card or Paypal on file.

It doesn't charge you as long as you are the master account with gold on your console
