    Creating Payment and Billing Method


    Am I allowed to create a fake address during payment for an item as the item being bought is only available in the US region. I am not from the US. The item is digital download and does not require shipment.

    Ps. I do have a payment and billing method set up for my own country but it does not pop up when I try to purchase the item.

    He was asking if you checked Microsoft's billing website.
    https://billing.microsoft.com

    It will tell you on that website if it is in fact your payment method that is the problem. If it is in fact the payment method then just creating a new email/account won't change anything.

    Hey there Felix! Can you explain exactly what is happening? Are you having issues adding the payment method, or using it to purchase? Does this happen with all purchases, or just some? Also, please check out our Payment Method guide (forums.xbox.com/.../153161.aspx)

    Purchases are tied to the region that your Microsoft Account is set to. Just setting up a new billing method will not change the region associated with your account. You CAN change your account region, but it should only be done if you are actually moving
    to the new region. See the info here: Update Microsoft account if Moving to a New Country or Region

    Pay very close attention to the warnings.

    I am currently experiencing the same problem. After setting up two credit cards and a paypal account, the problem still isn't resolved.
    "Your payment instrument could not be authorized. Please contact your provider, or try a different payment option."
    As nothing seems to be helping from my end, I think it's time to call the support. Heck, that only takes a
    FEW HOURS anyway.

    I resolved this by creating a virtual card in my banking app. It accepted that.

    I then received an error saying that the old card couldn't be removed because it was attached to an Azure subscription, which it was.

    If you are unable to create a virtual card, I'd suggest replacing the payment method within portal.azure.com -> Cost Management + Billing | Payment methods, wait a few minutes, and then browse to account.microsoft.com.
    Your payment method should now hopefully be updated there too.

    Hello again, it's hard to know why this happened, but when creating an account, add payment methods, billing address and security numbers and email.
