    creating an xbox live account


    okay..months ago, my gf moved in with me, and bought me used xbox 360..i was elated. and minecraft came shortly after, diablo...and controllers . headset dont' work...but she said to use the xbox live account, I need an Microsoft .com account. I did that.
    now I just need to buy the xbox live thingy right? or can I download it onto my account? I just want to be able to play xbox 360 games with friends an family....help?

    I just did this today with my offline partners profile which was on my own Gold account (360 ) creating an xbox live account :)

    You need to use a 24hr, 2 day, 7day pass and create an xbox live account for each of them, then port them across

    G'day Puppet. I'm sorry to say that the Gold membership cannot be transferred. Once it has been redeemed on an account, it's there to stay. If you know who owns the account that the card was mistakenly applied to, perhaps they'll go in on the cost of another
    membership with you?

    If a prepaid membership card was redeemed on an incorrect account you should contact Xbox Billing Support at 1-800-469-9269 (in the U.S. and Canada) to have them cancel the existing membership and provide you with a new prepaid token.

    Are you able to create a new Xbox Live account here on Xbox.com instead of through your console instead? Let us know if there's any change when you create an account on a PC and sign in with that.
