Creating a child account to make use of the Parent controls, but what about all the purchases

Hi everyone, I need some assistance, please. So I am a parent of a 10-year-old gamer. I want to set up some additional control on our XBOX console at home, but he has been playing for some time using my Microsoft Profile. So this means he bought some in-game
assets and upgrades - what will happen to these if I create a child account and move him to this child account. Is there a way to transfer all his game upgrades and game data to his own profile as a child account? Over time we might have spent around $1500
and I do not want to lose all that when I create a child account and move him to it.

Trying to buy Minecraft Axe or T-shirt for my kids avatar

I have tried chaning Privacy and Online settings with no success.

Whenever I try to purchase the Minecraft Axe or T-Shirt I recieve this error: "Sorry Purchase of this content is currently not allowed for child and teen accounts."



I can understand if content is rated higher but this is Minecraft "E for everyone" is the rating. This should be a non-issue.



Also if I wanted to purchase something that was outside of this accounts rating as a parent I should be allowed. But I am not.



I want the Child account for the parental control but if Microsoft becomes the parent for my child that's wrong. As the parent I should be in control.



What can I do to make this happen? Thanks.

I think Microsoft needs to stop hiding behind the Code of Conduct and start understanding that having a password on the profile to log in to Xbox Live or creating parental controls on a child account cannot prevent children from making purchases on Xbox
Live. the reason is that the Xbox really loses 99 percent of its functionality if its not logged into a profile if it doesn't have the ability to get on Xbox Live it really doesn't fulfill the purposes for which it was designed. therefore if Microsoft wants
to prevent unauthorized purchases on the marketplace needs to implement passcode per each purchase made on the marketplace. setting up parental controls and child accounts do not solve this problem because children also need to be able to get on Xbox LIVE
to enjoy the full functionality of their games, also if a parent has an account on the same console, kids will use their parents account to make the unauthorized purchases. parents at the present time that have the issue know that the only way they can prevent
unauthorized purchases is removed their payment option from there account. this is extremely annoying when the parent wants to actually buy things on Xbox Marketplace because you have to then go online and reinstate your payment information then buy the content
you want and then go online again and remove the payment information. if you forget to go back online again and remove the payment information then the next time your kid is online they're going to get on there and make unauthorized purchases. kids are very
intelligent that's why Microsoft needs to step up and make these consoles usable for parents of smart children and to require a passcode for each and every purchase on Xbox Live, and quit trying to make profits off purchases made by children. I'm tired of
hearing all the excuses and the constant references to parental controls. the parental controls are a complete failure because they don't allow you to be on Xbox Live but then on the same time prevent unauthorized purchases.
