Create new app password

Hi,

Have you try to create a new App password or even turn off two-step verification just to see if that works?

To create new one:

1.Sign in to your Microsoft account.

2.Under Password and security info, tap or click Edit security info.

If you're prompted for a security proof, enter it and tap or click Submit.

3.Under App passwords, tap or click Create a new app password.

A new app password is generated and appears on your screen.

4.When you’re prompted for your Microsoft account password on your Xbox console, enter the app password that you created online.

The password you have to use to download your profile on your xbox is not the same password you use to log in on the xbox website or windows live.

Its a new password you have the create there :

•Log in to https://account.live.com

•Click on “Security info” under “Overview”

•Click on “Create a new app password” under “App passwords”

•Enter your app password in the password field

Do you have two step verification enabled on your Microsoft account? If so, you'll need to create an app password that you'll then use to sign into Xbox Live on your console.

After you sign in with your app password, you're all set to use that app or device. You will use this new app password to sign in to your device instead of your Microsoft account password.

where is security info and where is create a new app password?

Can you clarify what you mean by a new app password? Were you asked to reset your account password?

The whole "app password" is the way that two-factor works for the 360; you have to go into your microsoft account and generate an app password if you have two-factor enabled and use a xbox 360.

I wasn't prompted to reset my actual password, but i did have to generate a newer app password after its been over 3-6 months since i made and used the first one.
