Create and release a wireless controller update to correct left analog stick drifting up XB1!

This issue is with the older xb1 console, the one with current OS version 10.0.14393.1040 (rs1_xbox_rel_1608.160816-1851)fre.

How do I know it's the updates this year, and not just a "faulty controller"? Simple. I have a newer model, purchased this year. Anyway, my updates are different from my hubby's, and it's his console having issues. March update made his left analog stick
drift upwards. june update fixed it, first August update made it start drifting up again, latest update 8/18/2016 didn't fix it.

The "How": I had a feeling to switch wireless xb1 controllers with him, thinking I'd have an easier time with stick drift in that I am not physically handicapped, where he is. Once his controller was synched with my Xbox One, there was not any drifting at
all. My controller, once synched to his Xbox One, began drifting upward after about 12 seconds.

He even went to the store and outright bought a new XB1 wireless controller, as well as a corded one. Same results. Left analog sticks drift up on his console, and do not drift on mine.

Please find the coding that's telling the controllers to make left sticks drift upward while they are centered and untouched and correct it? It makes everything difficult and frustrating for him, especially in games like Smite (makes **** matches nearly
impossible for him, because his character auto-walks off the platform before he even gets a chance to purchase his starting items, or even if he catches it in time, it still registers as his character leaving the platform and denies him purchases of items
and he has to suicide his character, which causes aggression from teammates, because he is then viewed as "feeding" the other team, etc. People get downright resentful and hateful over that stuff, and he gets hated on, bigtime. He doesn't deserve to be told
to die, to kill himself, threatened to be murdered, etc).

The left sticks only wander up, and only after the updates this year.

Day One controller thumsticks drifting

I am having the same problem. My left analog stick is drifting up, and it is getting worse, almost to the point where I can't control it. Microsoft needs a fix, nothing is broken in the controller, seems like a calibration is needed. Is there a way to
recalibrate the analog sticks?

 

Xbox 360 controller - Bring it back!

I find it a bit funny that people look back on the 360 controller so fondly. Sure I didn't have any that just stopped working completely but I did have 2 with broken mic jacks and a bunch with drifting analog sticks.

The early 360 white controllers were good but they cheeped out later on and produced junk analog sticks that would only last a few months before they would start drifting.

I'm fine with the X1 controller but the analog sticks seem to still be prone to drifting. They need to beef the analog sticks up but I don't see that happening it's a way for them to sell more controllers.

I also am having the same issue as Corvid with my older style XB 1 controller, but my issue is with the right stick drifting up. It does appear to be related to the latest console/controller firmware update, as I didn't have any drift before the last August
update. It's almost impossible to play any games that require you to aim (Fallout, Just Cause 3, etc). Even the Subnautica preview. You constantly have to correct for the drift, which is aggravating when the aim has a mind of its own. LOL

I've tried doing a hard reset, as has been suggested, and even recalibrating through the Windows control panel. All to no avail.

Until the next update comes out, I guess I'll just have to play Divinity: Original Sin or Skyrim on the 360. Or, of course, Dishonored. )
