Crashes on games and shut downs on certain apps

So. This is the first time I've used the xbox1. Most of it works like a charm. However! When I try to start the "avatar" app, the box completely shuts off. When I try to play some games (Diablo III) but not others (Dragon Age Inquisition), it completely
restarts (and logs me out). Um. WTF? I've cleared the MAC and Persistent data. I've reset to manufacturer settings, I've conducted the "magical, unplug-it-hard-restart trick." What the hell is going on here?

Xbox 360 sours my feelings toward Microsoft

Crash course 2 also got shut down and that was such a great game for me.I spent a lot of money on arcade games and would buy a lot more but now im not sure anymore with games and servers being shut down lately.

Crash Bandicoot won`t start

Hey.

Just purchased crash badicoot on xbox store and i downloaded it. But when im about to start the game it all goes well till a certain point and then it just shut downs. Have tried to reinstall it but the problem is still the same. Anyone got any ideas ?

Sorry about your issues with the console. How do you have your console connected to the power? Is it connected directly to the mains or via extension cable/adapter? Do you have a surge protector?

Surge protectors can cause issues like the ones you are having. If you have a surge protector, do not use it with your Xbox One as the Xbox One's power supply has its own surge protector.

Does it happen with a certain game in particular?

Shut down straight away happens in cold war every 4 matches but if playing farming simulator19 online with friends will crash after 8-9 hours playing and will shut down if try to reopen the game. Checked of was overheating but the exhaust heat is only 20-25
degrees so not too alerting

So I have a problem I don't know if it's my xbox or just the games having a bug. My xbox crashes and shuts down everytime I tried to play certain games like outriders on the game pass isn't working on my system it just shuts down and I have to manually turn it back on same thing happens with gears operation 6 I need help because I want to enjoy playing with my friend but can't because it keep shutting down.

I bought this game earlier tonight and I keep getting the same crashes. Where the whole one x shut down and I have to walk over and press the power button. I've never had any game crash so hard it shuts down my system

Hi ACARICE823,

Same thing happened to me. I had bought the $60 version. That was my problem. It was for the Xbox One and is known for crashing the new systems. You will first make sure you have at least the $70 cross gen version. Then go to "Manage Games & Apps" and go
to full library and purchased, find Cold War and you should see two versions, one has the X|S logo. That is the one you want to install.

And yes... thanks Activision for making this harder than it should be with no free upgrade or Smart Delivery... *shakes fist*
