crash bandicoot

my girlfriend has just bought an original Xbox game; crash bandicoot. it said we needed an original hard drive so we bought one. now it's in use the picture is terrible with lines down it sort of over lapping and the square is less than half of the screen.
any ideas ?

These two games on Xbox 360 are worth a good amount of money but they're nowhere near as good as the original Crash Bandicoot games (the last true Crash Bandicoot was Twinsanity).

 

Is it an original xbox game that you're playing on the 360? Crash Bandicoot 4 & Crash Bandicoot 5: Wrath of Cortex, are the only two Bandicoot games that are backwards compatible from the xbox to the 360. If it is one of these two games, then you also need
to download the compatibility program for it to work. That should happen automatically when you start the game if you're connected to the internet. If it's not one of those two games, then it is not compatible to play on the 360.

 

You need an official Microsoft 360 hard drive,not a original one,too play xbox games on the 360.

Remember a lot of the games from then were made in 4:3 aspect ratio so it wont fill up a 16:9 widescreen tv.

A lot of backwards compatible xbox games ran poorly on the 360 which is why they stopped adding to the list years ago.

 

Badger is correct, I just went and checked Two original games, Buffy and Bloodrayne 2, on my 360 and they both display as square with black pillars on each side of my widescreen.

 

we have an original hdd on our 360 but it wont play. Its an upgraded MS hdd but not the exact original one that came with it. So there goes another $10 to MS for nothing

can anyone help me please as this is appearing and for some reason my xbox 360 wont play any of the old xbox games i have and yes they are off the list of games that are compatible any help would be much appreciated.

 

Did you purchase your hard drive brand new or from a third party like ebay? Before the 500gb hard drives were made official, there were a ton of knock-offs floating around. So if it was not purchased new, it could most likely be a knock-off and will not
work with backwards compatible games.
