DSL connections are notoriously awful. The distance the signal has to travel is exponentially larger than a standard cable connection. The speeds can be great, but the lag is just inherit in the service. Doesn't matter if you're directly wired or not.
You need a better internet connection.

And don't forget the Xbox One is not a natural evolution of the 360. It's two totally different systems. It's like comparing my old Apple II desktop to my new Alienware PC. They may both be computers, but they don't both process information the same way.

The system is basically just a gaming computer though. I would try playing games offline, see if you can manage playing game campaigns and swap through a few off them in one session seamlessly. I have a feeling that without your awful internet connection
bogging your system down, you'll see much better system performance.

  2. I'm having really poor Xbone performance also. Everything on the dash and while playing games. It's like I'm trying to play games to advanced for my old hardware. Really disappointed with the Xbox one.

    HI ScottyDoo 560,

As this thread is a bit older there is a good chance that this person has already found their answer. So we can give you a support experience that's tailored to you please create your own thread.

That said, the first step I would try would be to hard reset your Xbox. To do this, hold down the power button for 10 seconds, your Xbox will quickly shut off. After that turn your Xbox back on and see if the performance is better. If that doesn't work create
your own thread, and include a detailed description of what's going on, and include any troubleshooting steps with this one in your post.

    Hope this helps.

Whenever the GUI starts lagging for me, I have to hold the power button to do a shutdown. The power brick will turn amber. Once that is done, you can power it back on and this clears the cache and the dashboard should be smooth again.

    HI Nomanian,

Controller disconnecting is a common issue with controllers that do not have updated firmware. Usually the light will go off all together. This is fixed with the firmware update. The controller is also designed to shut off after 5 minutes of inactivity.
If it's in use, you've updated the firmware, and you have good batteries there may be an issue with the controller that is not resolved with a firmware update. I'm confused on your statement as you say it did not have an update, but then you said you update
it regularly. Xbox controller updates are different than regular console updates. See links below.

    Controller Timeout

    Again to update firmware

Send Controller in 90 day warranty period to Microsoft for repair.
