yeah, it was there in the preview build too. Not sure why they released it to the pubilc. But it will probably be another 3 months to get it fixed. Stuck using stereo uncompressed.

  5. I am having this problem also. Tried using both my mixamps and both sets of Astros I have but the problem is still there. Only goes away when I go back to stereo uncompressed. Thought maybe it was the controller update but tried my second unopened controller.
Still didn't matter. Not happy with Microsoft right now.

Yep, Microsoft managed to screw this up somehow. Dolby crackles and pops horribly for me through optical on my headphones and receiver and through HDMI on my receiver. Pretty sad. DTS works though so at least there is that. Hope to be able to use my headphones
sooner than later. Try to get it right Microsoft, I have countless other devices that run Dolby no problem so it can't be that hard.

I had this problem, too, but a full power cycle of the XB1 has apparently solved it (hold the Xbox symbol down about 10 seconds). I've been using the system all day with DD and no crackling at all. YMMV.

I am having this problem too, worked with Xbox tech support with no help. They say it is a hardware issue with my system. I have to send in my Xbox in for repair and be without one for up to 8 weeks. They are now charging for advance repair as they call
    it.

The full power cycle didn't fix the issue on my console; will be trying the full "unplug everything" method later to see if that may do the trick. If this is truly a hardware issue and isn't repairable via a firmware update, this is a really unfortunate
situation. I'd really like to see a rep from MS chime in here.

i got word today from an xbox ambassador that this will be fixed with the april update. but is truly mistifying that such simple things are still so *** up. Its not like any of these sound codecs are new and untested. Who else could make a new piece of electronic
equipment that can't properly do what should be easy. Microsoft. I loved my 360 (all three do to rrod) and hope to feel the same about xbox one but definitely not there yet.

Yes, it certainly is. Since purchasing my Launch XB1 I have had virtually none of the problems reported by the various users on the various forums. Outside of "I wish they would change/add/remove/etc. that" software features I have absolutely no complaints
about my XB1 system. The two minor system problems I had were both fixed by a hard reboot and they have not returned. My AstroGaming A50s work very well with the adapter on all three of my controllers.

The same is not applicable to my son. He has had continuous controller disconnects, on two different controllers, since he received his Titanfall bundle XB1. It is extremely frustrating to have a controller disconnect during a Titan to Titan confrontation.
Last night we played a couple dozen matches and he averaged two to three controller disconnects per match. He has tried all of the trouble shooting procedures he could find on the internet and none of them have worked.

He also has a PS4 and currently prefers to game on that box with one caveat--there are no 'gotta have it' games available for the PS4. I suspect that if the XB1 problems aren't solved soon they will lose him as an Xbox gamer--and who could blame him.

The fact that I have had none of those problems reveals just how hard it is to get a system as complex as the XB1 working correctly for all users. I suspect Microsoft will get their act together in the future. Hopefully before a large number of XB1 units
    appear on eBay.

After the second-to-last update, my surround sound (bitstream, Dolby Digital) worked awesome - couldn't be happier. However, this most recent update, that happened last week, completely wrecked my surround sound for my Xfinity cable box. My Sony receiver
is reading Dolby Digital 5.1, but I'm only getting sound from the front 2 or 3 speakers (I have a 7.1 setup). Hopefully they fix this thing (again)!!!
