    Crackling audio for TV via Oneguide app


    My TV app has been making a crackling audio sound for many channels (but not all it seems). I use a Verizon FIOS Motorola TV box, and surround sound thru a Sony home theater in a box. This never happened until the NXE previews, and never with games. Only
    the TV aka Oneguide app. Also watched a movie via VUDU or WWE Network with no problems.

    Also unrelated question- is there a voice command to bring up the new sidebar?

    how to close/shut down TV app?

    Hello! When I "watch TV" the audio from my att uverse box takes over. Whenever I launch forza or any other app like Netflix I can't hear any of that audio but continue to hear the TV audio. Is there a way to shut down the TV app so I can hear my game audio
    or Netflix audio ?

    Or even how do you fully close any app/game running?

    My current setup

    1. Uverse connected via HDMI to Xbox

    2. Xbox connected via HDMI to av receiver

    3. Av receiver connected via HDMI to tv

    OK the shows that it happens with are Walking Dead on AMC and Daily Show on Comedy Central, recorded on the DVR. Walking Dead it only seems to happen when the background music swells, and Daily Show it happens throughout. Maybe these shows are not in surround
    sound like most others I watch are? HBO and WWE Raw are always fine

    tl;dr = No; it's yet another NXOE setback.

    "xbox show guide" = side snap bar with Login, Friends, Parties, Notifications, Settings

    "xbox oneguide" = tv guide at the last point you navigated to it, be it favorites, all channels, or trending.

    The NXOE really shafted original system consumers and other voice users where many parts of the system have no voice command shortcuts. The controller shortcut for the OneGuide SideBar is D-Pad Left or Left Stick Left. I keep filing Feedback reports for
    months but have yet to see the reports actually make a difference in improving the system.

    Audio crackles and pops

    I have been having a similar problem with audio pops and crackles.

    When I have my Xbox One connected to my TV with an HDMI cable and my surround sound receiver plugged into my TVs optical out port the audio pops and crackles (only from the Xbox One, not from any other audio source going into my TV and out to the receiver.)
    Yet if I plug my receiver directly into the Xbox's optical port the audio plays normally with no distortion whatsoever. I even tried replacing the HDMI cord but got no results that had no popping or crackling in the audio. Hence leading me to believe that
    the HDMI port on the Xbox one is having trouble sending audio to the TV through its HDMI cord as I even tested each of my 4 HDMI in ports on my gaming TV and my living room TV that achieved the same exact popping and crackling audio issues.

    Bitstream Audio DTS / DD cannot get center channel to play audio with HDMI passthrough

    Surround sound is disabled by default for the HDMI input. You need to go to Settings, TV & OneGuide, Troubleshooting, Audio to enable the surround sound beta.

    Is your setup Xbox to receiver via HDMI? Or is the sound going through your TV first?
