    I have the Xbox One X and it seems like no matter which Controller (Regular, Elite One, Elite 2 - all updated) or headset (4 different models, latest is the Raze RZ04 made for the XBox) It will eventually start crackling and popping. I have switched audio
    modes (Microsoft, Atmos, Dolby, Stereo) and no change. What does help is if I completely shut down the XBox and start 'fresh' for a while. Then it eventually goes back to crackling and popping after a couple of hours. The crackling is made worse when there
    are a lot of sounds or graphics happening at that moment. This is leading me to believe it is some sort of memory/load issue. I've seen tons of articles on here similar to the same issue but none with an actual resolution. If it helps, I am about 7 to 10
    feet away from the TV and no kind of interference between the console and where I sit.

    Just got the XO seven. I've tried using other headsets with the adapter and it doesn't matter - crackling and popping. Restarting the controller fixes this for a minute or two, but it eventually starts crackling again. VERY frustrating.

    There isn't a router between my controller and console and I don't think neighbours' routers' would cause interference if that's what you're getting at since my router is closest anyway.

    I'm really confused. I was using a Turtle beach audio controller with my headset. I unplugged that and plugged the headset directly to the controller and that seemed to lessen the popping. So does interference cause popping and crackling? When I move my
    controller really far away from my console, my headset starts to crackle before disconnecting so you could be right.

    Thanks for responding. I've tried the suggestions already with no success. The system is an xbox 1s. It is a wired headset connected to the controller. I've tried multiple headsets with multiple controllers. I have sound for both the games and other people in the chat but the mic is not working for any of the headsets, one of which is brand new. Thanks for any help with this.
