Crackdown 3 bug made me lose all my world game progress (PC)

Hi there.

A certain turn of events seems to have triggered a bug that overwrote my "world 1" game save with my friend's.

I have been playing quite a bit of Crackdown 3 since its launch and I've had a lot of fun and managed to get maybe 70% through the story mode. Today I started a co-op game with a friend, but due to the high difficulty of my "world 1", I joined his game instead
which was maybe around 5% progress.

When I accepted his invite, the game made me pick agent slot and world slot (maybe the progress is shared on both players when both select a world?). I selected my agent 1 but I selected "skip" for world due to the fact that I would have already completed
the stuff we would be doing. The game displayed a pop-up message about me potentially losing progress (which makes sense that the stuff I would do in my friend's world wouldn't progress my own world) and i selected ok/continue and joined the game.

My friend's internet connection is very poor, so he disappeared from the server pretty quickly when I joined, but he managed to rejoin maybe 4 minutes later. We played for an hour or so before I had to quit the game and leave. When I started up the game
now to play some solo, I realized pretty much everything was gone and I noticed that the game progress now was the same as my friend's when we finished playing earlier.

My theory is that when my friend hosted the game in his "world 1" and lagged out, the game made me the host when he rejoined, which made the progress stick to my "world 1" instead of his. So when we did stuff that saved the game, it would
obviously overwrite the last "world 1", which in my case was an entirely different world.

For the record: My agent data was not deleted. I play on PC while he is playing on Xbox One.

I'm sure that my game save data is lost, but it's really frustrating to have lost pretty much everything I've done and poured my hours into, including race high scores. It's really demotivating to have to regain everything I've lost. It doesn't help either
that my Game Pass subscription is running out in a few days, which means that I now won't be able to complete the game in time. I would appreciate if someone could shed some light on this.
