Crackdown 2 low resolution

As you may know, Crackdown (the first game in the series.) has been Xbox One X enhanced. I thoroughly enjoyed replaying the first Crackdown in 4k. The graphics have aged very well and the bump in resolution makes it look fantastic, even for todays standards.

Crackdown 2 however has been put on to backwards compatibility running at its original resolution that it was released with on the Xbox 360. It only runs at 720p if I'm not mistaken. This has been a large disappointment for me. Going from the great looking,
upgraded Crackdown (1) to Crackdown 2 was a night and day difference.

This leaves me with the question, why would Crackdown 2 not be Xbox One X enhanced? I understand it wasn't as praised as the first title in the series but it still has a large amount of people who enjoy it just as much, if not more, than Crackdown (1). Was
this a problem with Ruffian not wanting to do the work to upscale the resolution? If they were willing to bring it to backwards compatibility then I don't see why not just upscale it so people can take advantage of the power of the Xbox One X.

With all that being said, my main question is, why wasn't Crackdown 2 Xbox One X enhanced in any way?

Is there any plans to enhance Crackdown 2 in the future?

I just dont understand why Crackdown (1) would be enhanced and Crackdown 2 wouldn't be.

I believe that they just put out Crackdown 2 as thank you for the fans for free while they were updating Crackdown 3.

The main reason is because it takes a lot more work to make these old games enhanced for the One X hardware. It's not as simple as you might think.

Also, the BC work is done by a specialist team from Microsoft, they don't have any help from the developer. it's this small Microsoft team that made 360 and a few select original games BC for the Xbox One.

As for more enhanced games? Probably not. The team are now working exclusively on BC for Scarlett now.

Thanks for reaching out too the forums. Its down too the game dev and in this case Microsoft has the publisher if they want too make a game Xbox one X. There isn't a set tick of boxes that would meet making it. Its different for every game out there there
unfortunately not going too come out and say its because X because that not how these things work. For now Crackdown 2 X enchained may that will change maybe it wont but no one can say has we all know the same info has you has that all that is said.

I would say if you have a 4k TV that can upscale then that will upscale to 4k. But of course it inst going too be the same. Its also just down too personal option i sure there is millions that agree with you. I also sure there is millions that don't agree.
There isn't a right or wrong or a yes this will be upscaled for the X. Its just how it is and how people want too take that.

It is as stated by Xbox Forums Ambassador Obsessive Power. As per suggestions that are posted on the

Xbox Insider Reddit, Microsoft will reach out to the developers of the title in order to begin work on emulating that game.

If Microsoft is capable of maintaining open channels with the developers, they can then proceed to do additional support such as Xbox One X Enhanced updates.

Providing these sort of updates do take some additional time, but its possible, as Fable Anniversary just received a new update recently.

However, Microsoft is placing the BC program on hold while they focus on Project Scarlet. So once that is available, more work will be done on this program.
