Well here we go again....now I am having the same problem only now with sound instead of video..i get no sound when opening the tv app....the same solution of quitting the tv app and reopening will resume the sound .... any help here would be appreciated

Hey, Craig. Sorry to see that you're having issues again! Did you do all the troubleshooting steps again aside from the quitting the TV app? Let me know what all you've done and we'll get to the bottom of it. :3

 

yes quitting the app does bring back the sound...perhaps this is a code issue with the tv or cable box?

 

Weird. I can't say for sure what it is... Is it consistent with not having the sound every time you turn on your console? Do you have your console set to Instant On still?

 

I am having this issue again too. It happened to me a few weeks ago and a hard reboot of both the cable box and XB1 solved the problem. Now that solution is not working at all. If I unplug the HDMI in everything works normally. But if the HMDI from the
cable box is plugged in the entire system is slow to respond and freezes. Not just when watching TV but any application from games to the system settings. I can play a game and with the HDMI plugged in it freezes, unplug the cable and it snaps right back
into action. plug the cable back in and instantly freezes again. This is very frustrating.

Hey is there a solution to this problem yet? I only have one HDMI available on my TV, used by my xbox one. I also would love to use the cool guide. My cable box says "2d" and the xbox is just black.

 

I found the solution.... Turns out i had a bad HDMI cable lol
