Covert Forces controller d-pad problems

I just got the black Xbox One controller with the 3.5mm, and I'm also having problems with the D-pad. If I press the D-pad lightly it won't work like it should, I have to press the D-pad 2 or more times for it to respond. I shouldn't have to be applying
a lot of pressure on the D-pad for the controller to work, the controller that came with my Xbox One did not have this problem. It seems like the new controllers with the 3.5mm headphone jack came out defective.

I'm having the same issue with the d-pad on a brand new Covert Forces controller. It's most apparent with light presses to the down button, but all directions seem to be affected. Is this a hardware issue or something that can be resolved by a firmware update?

Just bought one yesterday and have the same problem as everyone else. Light presses don't register on the dpad most of the time even though the button clicks. The controller is up to date with firmware. Lot no. 1517

I'm having the same issue! I've been through 2 Covert Forces controllers and the D'pad is still semi-responsive! This is BS! The odd thing is, I purchased the new controller initially because the one I've been using since launch started having issues with
the D'pad as well! Very odd stuff going on here! very odd stuff going on here

 

I'm also having the same issues with the Covert Forces and the regular black controller with the 3.5 jack. I went through 6 controllers today from Gamestop. Lot number 1517. All had unresponsive D-Pads. One of the plain black ones had a working D-Pad but
the shoulder buttons were so sensitive that I could barely tell I was hitting them. The other 2 plain black ones I tried had the same issue. I'm going to return this Covert Forces controller tomorrow and try getting one from Best Buy to see if they got a better
batch. Wasted a lot of time going back and forth today.

I've been using the controller that came with my Xbox One for awhile now. Of course it is the first version without the 3.5mm jack. I have never had any problems with it and it still feels solid.

Recently I wanted to pick up a second controller and was excited to try out the new version. Well the first one was black and the new bumpers feel great! However the left trigger felt really rough when I would press it so I returned it. I decided this time
to get the convert forces version since it was the same price.

Well the convert forces version's triggers are ok, the right one feels slightly rough but manageable. However like everyone else is reporting the D-Pad is being unresponsive. A lot of times I have to hit the left direction 2 or 3 times for it to register.

I am starting to think they lowered the quality assurance and/or used cheaper parts on the new controllers with the 3.5mm jack. I am going to return this controller and just stick with my original Xbox One controller for awhile.
