Covert Forces controller and Xbox headset issue

I just bought a covert forces controller with the 3.5mm jack. Stupid me I should have known the mic on my Bose headphones wouldn't work because it's iPhone compatible. OK no big deal, I'll try to use my standard issue headset that came with my Xbox One.

My xbox headset/mic does not work with the covert forces controller. The light does not come on when I try to mute, there is no audio, and the mic does not pick up my voice. It's completely dead. I make sure the controller has the most recent version of
software, and all is up to date. Still doesn't work. The headset does work with the standard black controller that came with my Xbox one just fine.

I call customer support which is more like a customer complaint number since they really don't help with anything. I tell this guy what I said above and his solution is for me to buy a Turtle Beach head set. He says the headset is "known to work sporadically
with different controllers, I can't help you, that sucks."

My last thought to him was OK well this does suck. Can you please submit my complaint and issue to Microsoft so they can understand where their products are lacking. Perhaps Microsoft has the ambition to actually fix and or improve issues with current products.
The rep replies with, sorry but no.

So this is the closest thing I can get to a complaint form into Microsoft. Your customer care is not helpful. I hope you take this issue into consideration for future improvement as a company.

Id take the controller back to the retailer you bought it and ask for a replacement.

When it first came out some people had problems with the d-pad not working.

Possibly quite a few lemon controllers got sold.

No issues at all with mine "touch wood" it works flawlessly.
