Court issues

If i request lawful action, will Xbox make the call on my behalf since i am not really aware of who these people are. Who they say they are is different from who they could be. Id rather not have someone innocent get indited.

They store messages for a certain amount of time then get deleted, depends on which country as countries have legal requirements on how long they store messages and personal info.

microsoft are not going to give you your chat history, if you are being threatened physically then report to your local law enforcement, they can then ask microsoft for the chat logs if any if it goes that far. also make a report on xbox too that way there is a record of it.

then report to microsoft through the xbox and leave it at that, but if they have threatened actual violence to you and you feel threatened then contacting your local law enforcement would be a good choice as microsoft will only ban their accounts if they have been threatening. Microsoft are not the police, there is only so much they will do.

Those threatening you are propbably just full of hot air and as they don't know you or where you live then its safe to say you should be ok.

lot's of people online are toxic and act like that, just report block and move on.

If you have come across a player who has broken the Code of Conduct, please report them to the Xbox Enforcement team via the reporting tools on their profile/messages.

This allows the Xbox Enforcement team to investigate this and decide the appropriate action on the user. All reports are investigated and are taken seriously. You may get a message telling you that one or more of your reports have been actioned. However, this isn't always sent, and they will not tell you what action they have taken.
