Couple of questions about the Xbox One..

I just recently bought my xbox one about three weeks ago and wondering about a couple of things. The first thing is the only way to currently remove a game disc from the console by the eject button? Secondly has there been any news lately when we will be
able to use external hard drives?

Derp! Thank you Doc. I shoulda told my Xbox to record that when I derped hard on Max earlier. I really like it, but damn do I derp it sometimes lol.

I don't really mind the random recordings. I just wanted to make sure a ghost wasn't whispering Xbox record that to my Kinect. Where do you disable it?

I definitely agree with number 3! I just can't see myself without it. Voice commands are way too fun haha.

 

Couple questions about the One

1st. Yes press the menu button AKA Start button on the app to close it. Also, yes quick resume will resume your gane exactly where you left off the last time the game was in. Same for some apps.

2nd. Yes you can disable random recordings, but at the cost of you saying "record that". They are working on this

3rd. Yes the Kinect 2.0 is amazing Defy Lightning. I couldn't imagine the Xbox One without it.

 

Im hoping they add another way to remove a disc in the future then. Also i know they plan on adding external hard drive support in the future just hope its sometime this year.

 

Unless you hope they add a feature called "kinect targeting" which spits out the disk to land in the open case across the room, I don't understand the desire for such a thing. You still need to be within touching distance of the console to remove the disk
once ejected. I guess pushing a button is too much to ask of some people.

 

@sword style: For me, this feature would be nice more because that chrome trim is a fingerprint magnet, so having the feature built into the software would mean less obsessive-compulsive cleaning of my console.

 

I just shined a flashlight on my eject button and looked at it through a magnifying glass, and could not see any detectable finger prints. It's too small. And considering I know someone who actually has real Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and not "omg I
like my stuff clean and in order! I'm so ocd" It's you who needs to adapt to the world, not the other way around. Or so his therapist tells him.

 

I'm glad you can't see them. I can. I didn't say "OMG MS NEEDS TO FIX THIS OR I'M SELLING ALL MS STUFF I OWN," rather that it would be nice to have this feature. Because yes, I am obsessive about keeping my consoles clean and well-cared for, just as I am
with my other substantial investments.

 

There is a fundamental difference between keeping your electronics well maintained and not wanting to push a button because...fingerprints.

 

It wouldn't be an issue if it weren't chrome, which is high-gloss, highly reflective, and very easy to see fingerprints on.

 

Except, you can't see finger prints on it. We just covered this. The button is too small with an icon protruding from the center.

 

I'm not gonna argue with you over what you can and can't see. I can clearly see fingerprints on my console's eject button in my well-lit room. Can you understand that some people might have different experiences, and while you may not experience something,
other people are capable of experiencing it?

 

If you have a Harmony remote, there is a programmed action for disc eject, FYI

 

Experiences are fine. Opinions are great. But some things simply are not possible. I've touched my eject button at least 20 times since the last time I wiped down my console. Your well lit room has nothing on my mini mag light and magnifying glass. That
button is simply not capable of retaining a print, or I would see it.

But I get it. You see what you see, right? Who am I to say that you are wrong? I could tell you I see a mini unicorn that hides in my closet at night and tells me bed time stories. You can't tell me what I am or am not seeing. But even so, what are you thinking
about me afterwards?

 

I get it. You're out to be an @$$hole tonight. That's cool. But saying that chrome is incapable of getting fingerprints is seriously one of the least intelligent things that could have come out of your mouth. Congratulations on making yourself look like
