Country Settings On Website

When I log into my UK account on the xbox.com/live website, currency prices are displayed in US dollars. This is because, at the bottom left of the page, the locale defaults to the United States instead of defaulting to my account's locale (UK).

Also, a message from Xbox Live stated that I can play online for free this weekend. The website had the dates formatted to US standards (MM/DD) instead of UK (DD/MM): "Try Xbox Live Gold FREE 10/10 through 10/12" (for October).

After changing the locale on the website to UK, the prices were correctly displayed in sterling, but the date in the message was still in US format.

When viewing pricing and this same message on my console, both prices and dates were in the correct UK format.

European Prices Displayed

When you login, on every page there is the footer on the website, on the last line, the first link shows a country.

Is this set to Canada or another country? If it does not show Canada, click on the country name and you can change the country setting. Maybe you have a european country set there?

If on the website make sure it has the correct country selected. You can select the country at the bottom of the webpage.

Yeah some things can be a bit glitchy, especially the dates. Nothing you can really do about it to be honest. Just always make sure that you're on the UK website. The forums are permanently in the US version but you can force the rest of the site to the
UK version by replacing the US characters in the URL to GB.

Usually if you set your country to the correct region at the bottom left of the website, it should remain that way. However, if someone or something gives you a Xbox.com URL with the U.S suffix (en-US) then this can change the default country region you
selected earlier. This happens to me from time to time when I'm helping people on the forums or via the Ambassador chat. If it changes, I just change it back again.

why not use the console you want to purchase content on with the correct region?

Is it possible that your browser accidentally went to the "wrong" country locale of the website?

When changing your name, check in the lower left corner, that the country setting of the website matches your actual country.

Also make sure that your account's country and country of your billing option are the same (for example, if you are in India and set up your account to be from the USA, then you get such an error message).
