  1. Countdown to New Years a HUGE disappointment!!

    Hey xbox,

I must say i have been mega disappointed by the so called sales in the countdown to New Years. It's like you have taken every title that absolutely sucked and are now trying to pass them off to us, the consumer, as a fair deal. For
shame! I was waking up everyday with a little expectation to spend some money on xbox live's awesome games for this summer, but unless you pull off a miracle in the next few days i will be keeping my hot dollars in my wallet. May even check out the playstation
4, i hear steam and other market places at least sell lame titles cheap as chips.

    Now with lowered expectations

    Kiam

    :)

    Huge Disappointment

YES!!!! YOU CAN GET EYEPHONE IN COLOR NOW!! But anyways, save your money and buy Ghost then complain it's the exact same as the previous several releases. Common sense would be to not invest anymore money into your 360 and use it towards one of the new systems.
It's the only way you're going to see a difference.

Countdown to New Years a HUGE disappointment!!

I've been happy with the sale - at least on the 360 side. Both the weekly countdown sales have been good and the daily's are more specific but still great value.

It's hard to pick one game for one day that'll make everybody happy. I can't see your games list so don't know what you like. Maybe you like CoD, FIFA, Madden, Sonic, Final Fantasy... all franchises I don't like. lol

But if I saw those franchises in a sale I just wouldn't buy them. I wouldn't go to a public forum to accuse a business of trying to con me, because their chosen sale products aren't jiving with my tastes.

I've spent more than I should and have managed to make a few people happy digitally this Christmas.

Also... none of this is going to reach a desk at a Microsoft office, and no CEO is going to start making changes based on your post... so when you mention potential moves to rival platforms as if it carries weight... the only people reading that are fellow
gamers... and speaking on behalf of one gamer... me... that's just laughably lame, man. {XD

  5. Not into the above mentioned games at all. But do enjoy a vast array of titles. My games list and achievement trophies would indicate this. And I know that my rant isn't going to change Microsoft's already predetermined list of "goodies". Wasn't even expecting
a reply, let alone raise an eyebrow of any CEO's lol, that is funny. I needed to vent and this seemed like a good a place as any.

On that, the talks within my circles are about consumers being ripped off on titles that promise so much and just can't deliver. Mostly due to the insurmountable pressure poured on by publishers and their release dates etc. Thus leading me to research further...

Haven't always been an xbox gamer. In the beginning i was playstation all the way. Yet exclusive titles like Dead Rising convinced me to change over (plus games with gold has been more fantastic than not) and i haven't looked back... until recent research
into next gen consoles. As any intelligent consumer would do before making a decision to part with hard earned dollars. After playing both XB1 and PS4, i am now torn between the two. For me, it really comes down to game titles, publishers, benefits of ownership,
exclusive downloadable content, bugs/problems (consoles and games)...and as i weigh these options the scales begin to tilt in favor of PS4. Just my opinion.

Alas, i digress, the games on offer in the countdown (in my opinion) just don't grab me by the cojones. And being an avid gamer i will always give any game a go, but the discounts being offered are nothing special and the games are less than appealing, but
    hey, you can't please everyone.

  6. i've been playing my ps3 alot more lately so i haven't really checked xbox's holiday sale, but i do think this year has been a bit lacking. at the end of it, i think i will have bought two maybe three titles. i'm probably gonna pick up dragon age inquisition
deluxe from the flash sale if it's still up when i get my ps4 monday, though that's only if i have money left from some other non sale games imma pick up.

totally off topic question that i don't really expect a straight answer for...but is the ps camera really worth it? i'm interested in checking out playroom and using the voice commands and...i don't know what else it's used for, other than streaming.

Speaking to the topic though... in terms of digital sales the percentages torn from prices seem to be directly influenced by the age of the titles. It seems a reasonable way to assign value to digital content. So new titles like Advanced Warfare and Alien
Isolation on 360, and Sunset Overdrive, and Fantasia on the X1 -- have savings of 25% - 50%. While older titles [there aren't any on X1, lol] have savings of 60% and higher.

I'm not sure which games with what percentage off in a sale would rock your world or blow your socks off, but if you haven't seen any yet, you're unlikely to see them by the time fireworks start exploding for the new year. Bioshock Infinite was £3 on 360.
lol Titanfall and all its content was £10. The ACIV Season Pass was £8. All of the Telltale stuff is half-price right now. The X1 has seen Dragon Age Inquisition, Diablo III, Sunset Overdrive, NBA2K15... Microsoft/Xbox seem to be firing on all cylinders here...

... if they're not hitting your hot spots maybe they really don't have anything you want. Grab a Steam bundle or a Sony sack of games, and have at it, man. As long as a gamer picks some games up in these mad sales... it's all good. But positive and constructive
feedback would be if you listed what you wanted to see, and at what price - rather than being somewhat vague.

You said you'll give any game a go.... have you played all the games in the sales or something and assign lower values to them, you're yet to see a game you haven't played? What? Heh ha. {XD

  8. Countdown to New Years a HUGE disappointment!!

I have to agree... last Christmas I bought 2-3 games that were on sale and between that and Steam, I had a ridiculous amount of games to play. This year, almost nothing interested me.

^ Heh ha. Yeah right! I thought you were overspending in the sales this year? Are you being a contrarian for the giggles? {XD Or have you been buying PS4 games maybe?

I do agree with EV1LD3ADP1NH3AD though -- you can't please everyone. It's just one of those things. {=]

  11. Ok, to make it crystal clear:

2013 Christmas sales on XBL - GREAT!

2013 Christmas sales on Steam - GREAT!

2014 Christmas sales on XBL - HORRIBLE!

2014 Christmas sales on Steam - GREAT!

    Is that clearer?

Well then trade in your Xbox and be done with it. I have been happy so far with the games and deals. But then my life does not revolve around games, they are just a leisure activity for me.
