Home xbox not refreshed

So my friend tried to switch my home xbox to his xbox, but it wouldn't let him because it says you can only switch home xbox 3 times per year. So I was wondering if you could refresh it. I do not recall anyone switching the home xbox on my account before,
this is the first time I'm doing it.

Xbox one home console

Yes. you can only have one console set as your Home at a time, so when you switch to another console it automatically removes it from the previous console.

There is a year-long cooldown with a limited amount of Home designation switches, likely to prevent excessive swapping.

As far as I know since the amount of times you can change your home console was increased to 5 times every 12 months support no longer reset the amount unless it's a new console that is registered or you've had your console replaced due to sending it to
Microsoft for repair.

5 times per 12 months is more than enough.The home feature is only really meant to be used in households with more than one console.

You could try to reach out to the friend. If they logged into another system and set it as Home then I think it would remove yours as being the Home system. Also, you can only switch so many times per year. Any chance three people are trying to set
the system as Home and causing the issue?

I used all my xbox home switches and I didnot know that there is a limit and also I cant get that free additional switch so how I get or can I just buy switches

The Home setting on your account is limited to set 5 times per year. If you have maxed this out then I'm afraid you would need to wait until the anniversary of the first time it was set. For example, if you first set Home on Dec. 25, 2018 then you would need to wait until Dec 25 to set it again.

However, Xbox does have an opportunity for only one additional switch per year. You can do this off the console by completing the survey. Please remember that this is a one time per year offer only and you must be showing as having 0 switches. Once this has been used you will not be able to switch again until the actual renewal date.

You can check if you are eligible by going to Settings > Personalization > My home Xbox > Learn more. If you see a message saying "Need One More?" then you are eligible for one extra switch.

you can switch your home console 5 times in one year after that you have to wait for the first switch to time out. Once it times out you can switch your home console again. You have to wait for each switch to time out.

Do not share your account information with friend to give them games for free by letting them set their console as your home console. It is a VERY bad idea.
