XBOX ONE turns on my TV but after a couple of seconds it turns off again

I am having a similar problem. I say "XBOX ON", the light comes on the Xbox One, the tv and stereo turn on then the Xbox One turns off. It then will only turn on by pressing the button on the front and appears to go through a full boot process. Once the
Kinect boots, it then turns off my tv.

TV app not working on snap

If I start the One and start to play a game, then decide to snap TV, the TV app and OneGuide fail and return an error after a while. If I then switch to the TV app full, it will also fail. The only way to get the TV app to start in snap is to launch it full
    before trying to snap it.

I'm surprised all these wives-kids hate the tv integration.. the ability to use voice commands rather than finding a remote should make them fans pretty quick! "xbox volume up" "xbox volume down" etc are pretty awesome from the kitchen when the remote is
way over in the living room.

But in any case.. yes, this feature is really needed. Please let us start up tv on boot!

  6. +1 I all really need this feature!!

The voice commands are not reliable enough and as a result everyone hates having to use them just to watch TV. It is very disappointing that 3 months (and 3 updates) since launch it is still not possible to boot to TV in full screen. So far the only solution
is to buy an expensive harmony remote and use a lengthy series of commands just to watch TV.

I used to have a Asus Cube (Google TV) as a pass thru device between the STB and TV and that was much better. It did TV first and always, and the smart features were available on demand. I am about to switch back to the Google TV and relegate the HDMI/Input
4 for occasionally playing a game. What a waste of $500.

I bought the Xbox One instead of a PS4 primarily because of the the TV features but it is making the TV worse for everyone in my household...

  7. I also agree this feature is needed and it is crazy that it is not yet available. Jumping to the home screen on start up just adds an annoying layer of steps required to simply watch TV. I also don't need guests and friends seeing my home screen every
time I want to watch TV with them.

My mother inlaw recently stayed over for a few days and explaining to her how to say "xbox watch TV", I mise well have been teaching a cave man the theory of relativity. I am very close to detaching my PVR from my xbox.

Add another to this list. I can't justify hooking up my Dish box unless it doesn't negatively impact my wife. HDMI passthrough while the X1 is in standby or off is a necessity for those that don't want to use the X1. Can a member of the XBOX team chime
in to say if this is even being considered by their dev team?

  10. It's crazy that MS has not implemented this feature. It the same stubbornness they showed with refusing to implement boot-to-desktop in Windows 8.

Give us what we want, not what you want MS.

Thanks for the response Program Manager - I have full faith that Microsoft is listening.

Just got my One yesterday and i love it - but my wife hates it too. She has to call me into the room every time she wants to turn the TV on. It's kinda funny..... but sometimes not.

  13. Could Xbox One boot to the TV app in full screen?

I know this may sound very 101, but it is one of those really useful little things (as it may not actually resolve it) but it made my life better using the Kinect. Mute all other background noises (can hear a pin drop in the background/ a void of no noise).
Then run the Kinect tuner, crank the volume... Loud! If too loud you will see an error message. Give that a go to see if helps.

    -Cheers

This is all too true. My wife hates trying to get the TV going with my Harmony through xb1. TV booting is paramount.

  15. All this time (and a few updates later) and the almighty Xbox One still can't boot to TV ready to watch full screen. Typical Microsoft. I've been with Xbox since the beginning but it's almost like Microsoft is intentionally trying to get people to switch
to PlayStation. Underpowered hardware, software, AND $100 more expensive. Mission accomplished, I'll go with Sony next time around.
