Could Watch Dogs Multiplayer Hacking start a revolution?

I have to say that I was very skeptical about the hacking from other players, but I am really impressed, its been very well thought out and very well balances.

You can prevent it most of the time, it doesn't effect you in a way that really spoils the game play, its adds an interesting mini game, it provides MP which IMO is fair, it can be ignored it you want to.

I really think that little bits like this that make peoples games run into other peoples games could spark a new revolution, not mmo's, not coops, but game interaction, very very clever stuff IMO. (although other games are going to try similar and get it
so wrong)

Anyone else wish you could do private matches of the 1v1 hacking mode in Watch Dogs? I love it! It's like hide and seek on steroids.

 

I wouldn't know. I turned it off before I started playing.

It's another take on what Dark Souls did.

 

I hate it. I was going to a mission and right as I got there some hack me. It doesn't help that UBI sever suck too.

 

I haven't had a problem with servers during a game, and I haven't played dark souls :-( (although I guess it can get in the way when you want to do other missions)

What did dark souls do, and did it work well?

 

Dark souls was made to be really hard so it work for that. some one would invade your world at anytime I don't that at big boss fight, And it dark souls every thing can kill you in 2 or 3 or even 1 hit.

 

I slightly disagree on the "can be ignored if you want to", yes I know there is the option to turn it off, but there has been numerous times I've tried to start a campaign mission or side mission and it wouldn't let me because someone was about to start
the process of "invading" me.

 

OP - Agree with you about how it's implemented. I love it when somebody pops in.

 

Ubisoft seem to be heading down this route of integrating their MP into the SP. They did it to a lesser extent in AC Black Flag too.

 

@nib I ment by ignore it, meaning it doesn't really effect your game if you sit doing nothing for 5 mins, you don't loose anything in the game, except for a little hacking XP.

TBH i think its fun looking for them, and it makes the game more dynamic, its your fault your being hacked, if you want to start a missing don't hack people before you start.

 

The Division Trailer, makes it look like they are taking this to a whole new level.

 

I spent the whole campaign not realising people were always tailing me off mission, without actually initiating a hack. Only realised last night you can hit slow-mo to check if there's someone's in your game, real fun catching them out.

 

I suck at it, I been hacked three times so far and haven't come near to stopping the hack. That being said, I find it to be a lot of fun even if my guy looks like a complete tool. It is that type of innovation that will keep me playing for hours.

 

yup I like it, I can always take down the person who is trying to call in a bounty on me, that is good, an it doesn't really bother me to participate in the 1vs1 hide an seek, lol I caught a couple really easy one was trying to hide in a dumpster, he started
hacking in on me while I was trying to unlock a ctos tower, shot him right in the face LOL
