Could this cause damage?

My 1 year old has been absolutely entranced by the power button on my console and has been switching it on and off repeatedly the past couple days.

It is now turning black randomly for a few seconds whilst gaming before returning to normal. It did do this before but not to this extent. Could this have caused damage?

I recommend you stopping your kid(s) from repeatedly doing that it can wreck the sensor on it if press constantly.

For it randomly turning black mid game that isn't normal may i ask is it happening at the home as well? If not then which game(s) are doing this?

It could be that your wifi router or console was damaged do to a power surge caused by the power outage

Powering off at the wall could also potentially damage the device due to the surge. It's funny how many people try to be environment friendly but end up causing more damage.

Yes, any liquid inside the console could cause it to malfunction. Unfortunately, Microsoft won't repair a console with physical damage.
