Could the hd dvd have survived?

If the xbox 360 had a hd drive instead of just a dvd drive do you think hd dvds would have won the format war?

have MS used the new discs for any 360 games yet?

Well, the only way the discs could hold more data, is if the laser diode was blue, like the Xbox HD-DVD external player etc.. (the Blue laser Diodes, have to be more focused in HD-DVD Drives too..)

I'll show an example of what I mean below..

 

HD-DVD not working now...

My HD DVD player no longer plays HD DVDs after the latest update. It still plays DVDs. With HD DVDs it starts to load the movie, then crashes back to the XBOX home screen. Anyone have any useful tips?

 

HD-DVD could have won the 'war' if it has been an internal drive.

The problem is that it would have increased the price of the console and that was a big advantage Microsoft had over Sony, they were able to offer their console at a cheaper price.

 

Yeah the 360 (at least when I came on board) was super cheap where I got it from. Not to sure if I can answer your question though, I was pretty much happy with the console the way that it was

 

No-the porn industry chose blu-ray and that essentially killed HD-DVD.When the porn industry first adopted VHS it killed Betamax.Also calling it HD DVD was not a good idea because consumers thought i was the same as a regular dvd.Its like how many dont
reaize the WIIU is not the sae as a WII.

 

Even though Beta was smaller and better quality btw.......

This type of format war goes all the way back to the electricity we pay for now.

I hope porn adopts the Oculus rift instead of smartglass........ or a combo

 

The format won't matter much when information is stored in the cloud
