Could my router be the cause of my party chat problems?

Hey guys, so ever since I purchased my xbox one upon release i've had issues with party chat. For a very brief time I was able to join a party and enter into the party chat with my friends and communicate just fine. Within a week or so I began getting the
message that I couldn't connect to the party chat at that time. Looking into my connection I discovered that I have a strict nat type. When I attempt to do the multiplayer connection test it says it can't get a teredo ip address. Following the instructions
on how to open my nat type I get to a point where it says to make sure that the ipv6 setting is allowed along with teredo tunneling, the issue is that my router doesn't have those options. I have a linksys E3000. I've followed other guides on how to portforward
for the xbox one and it never changes my nat type. So would I be better off getting a newer router, and which one would be good. I've been looking at a Netgear Nighthawk AC1900. Also i've read that having a smart modem could also still hinder me even
after getting a router that utilizes the ipv6 and teredo tunneling, but it's an easy fix with bridging right? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

    :)

Could my router be the cause of my party chat problems?

    Greetings Htown!

Before we get started, can you post up the make and model of your modem as well (the device which your Linksys router terminates to).

    TIA!

    Thank you!

Now, are you able to bypass your router and connect your console directly to your modem? If so, give this set up a try and let us know how that goes and we'll go from there.

Could my router be the cause of my party chat problems?

Can you visit Linksys website, to make sure your router is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware.

Whenever you update your routers firmware, make sure you reset your router afterwards.

If your routers firmware is currently up-to-date, I would suggest a hardware reset of your router. This will force all your settings to factory defaults and you have to reconfigure UPnP (enable) and wireless settings.

I would also suggest that you restore your console's network settings to factory defaults, to issue new IP configuration from the DHCP server on your router.

Go to Network Settings and select Advanced settings. Select Alternate MAC address and Clear.

Post back and let us know how that goes and we'll go from there.

I just finished upgrading the firmware to my router, going through the options I still didn't see anything related to ipv6 or teredo tunneling. I reset the router and made sure that UPnP was turned on. I also went to my xbox one and cleared the alternate
mac address and cleared it. The nat type is still strict and when attempting the test multiplayer connection option I still get the can't get a teredo ip address. Upon joining a party i'm still unable to join the party chat, I receive the message "Due to limitations,
you can't join party chat right now. (0x807d0106)"

Just to rule out the possibility if your network is behind a Large Scale NAT (LSN) architecture, could you access the web-uitlity interface of your Linksys router and see if you can find the WAN/Internet IP address, which is the address assigned by
    your ISP.

Take note of the WAN/Internet IP address and go to Current IP Check

Now, if the 'Current Address' don't match the WAN/Internet IP address that you took note of, then you're in a topologie that involves multiple levels of NAT. Multiple levels of NAT, or double NAT, don't support UDP (User Datagram Protocol) over NAT traversal.

Try the following steps and let us know how that goes.

Assign your console manual network settings (static IP). Manually type in an address, where the last octet is .100 or higher, but lower than 255, followed by Default gateway, Subnet mask, DNS settings.

Access your routers web-utility interface and go to the DMZ of your router. Type in your console's fixed IP address in the DMZ of your router. Save/Apply.

    Untick/disable UPnP. Save/Apply.

Navigate to firewall settings and untick/disable Block/Filter Anonymous Internet Requests. Save/Apply.

    Reboot your router.

Run a diagnostic test on your console and let us know how that goes.

Using the checkip.dyndns.com link it showed the following ip address [Mod Removed]. Going into my router I found two different ip adresses, one was labeled router ip address and is as follows
[Mod Removed]. The other ip address I found was labeled internet ip adress and was
[Mod Removed], matching the ip address from the checkip.dyndns.com link.

    Thank you!

    That's a public IP.

Go ahead and try the steps, as per my previous post, and let us know how that goes.

Could my router be the cause of my party chat problems?

I attempted following the previous instructions, after doing everything I was unable to connect to the internet with my xbox. I believe I messed up somewhere. I assigned my xbox a static ip and don't think that part was the issue. The following link is what
the dmz page looks like for my router, though it isn't my own.
