Could my ISP be the reason for my high packet loss?

My issue is that my xbox has a consistently 50+% packet loss on my ISP (Hawaiian Telcom).

-I tried the box on another ISP (Spectrum) at a friend's house, 0% packet loss.

-I connected the Xbox wirelessly tethered to my phone (AT&T), 0% packet loss.

-I tried connecting the box directly to my fiber connection (bypassing all networking gear and using the ISP public IP), same high loss numbers.

-No other devices using my ISP and network have packet loss.

I've tried everything I can think of, and can't think of any other reason it's not my ISP. Could they be blocking or filtering or something that causes the high packet loss?

Of course, when I call them, the customer service people don't have any idea of what I'm talking about. They say it's Microsoft's or my particular Xbox's fault. But it simply can't be, since I've tried the same box on different ISPs with no loss. And with my limited knowledge, I can't point to anything particular and say that is causing the high packet loss. Help me obi wan...

Could my ISP be the reason for my high packet loss?

Hello again, yes it can, if the network cable you use has a poorly made connector, or one of the wires is in bad contact this can happen, so it would be ideal ma review on the network where they do connectivity tests to know if there is packet loss.

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello HI5-O, when it comes to packet loss is difficult to know the origin, but by your report the loss happens only in your residence, not your so you are familiar with the OSI Layers, however not least the first layer that is Physical Laye, ends up becoming one of the most important because could affect the othes, like a poorly made connector, a damaged cable etc can result in packet loss, so the ideal would be to request a review of your home network.

change xbox network dns settings to google and try 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

there is the odd isp that still caches the net (looking at you BT) and it can cause issues.

Thank you for the nice welcome! Could the damaged connector only affect one particular device like this? Wouldn't other devices suffer this same packet loss issue if it was a physical connector?

Whilst it could be an ISP issue, you did note "No other devices using my ISP and network have packet loss" which points to the Xbox or at least how it is set up. I'm not a network specialist though
