Could Microsoft buy capcom

Sony just lost over a billion so MS financially has the money to acquire Capcom. Think about how much that would push for MS, making Street Fighter, Monster Hunter, Megaman, or Resident Evil Xbox One exclusives or 360. Nintendo would make more sense but
honestly no ones going to play SF or RE on Nintendo, mostly for their notorious play of being a family console with no mature titles.

 

NINTENDO is less likey to buy CAPCOM. Because they r more in to making kids games then make grown up games. SONY isa never list. So it lefth with MS. MS has more money of the three console makers. And MS needs a game stouideo that understands japaness
market well. And MS buys them in that in mind. XBOX will kill SONY over there. And NINTENDO do not need help to sale console worldwide. Because they sale themself. But I thinki t would hurt them to make games what older gamers like. Like a racing
sim simler to FORZA. But I no share holder to NINTENDO. So I have no words in that matter.

 

@Dark....actually Nintendo would be a good fit. Capcom made a lot of games for them back in the day.

Mgzin66 some game CAPCOM makes dose not fit NINTENDO stander what allowed in games. That why it hard to make a M rated game on a NINTENDO console. There more relaesed on rated M game on a SONY and MS console then NINTENDO. Do you know how a rated M game
go thought to be made by NINTENDO. It frist must be ok with them. And if it okay to make it. It also have to follow the do's and don't like most games on there systems. They could not show boobs in there games. It have be mostly cover up. And most CAPCOM characters
have to be censored to fit NINTENDO rulings what allowed in games. CAPCOM will have less created rights to there games then they would with MS.

 

It would make zero sense for any console maker to buy capcom. It would require too much capital for minimal gains if any.

 

It also would not spark console sales in Japan for Microsoft considering Japan is now a handheld hotspot. Console gaming is dying there.

 

@Dark...you're missing the point. It has nothing to do with M rated games. Capcom made a ton of games that weren't. They could be successful making regular games without boobs and language. Those two things don't necessarily make a good game.

They sure do make some great games. Not really sure what qualifies a game for being "grown up". Anyway, Nintendo could easily let them do some of their better series games on their consoles that would get an M rating. Isn't like they do not have M rated
games already.

I did see a thing where Crytek was experiencing some financial troubles. They have some really good IP and some good tools. I would say someone could maybe come in a get those guys or provide some financial deal for some exclusive games. Could be an option
for MS as that would add a decent stable of IP they could use. If they did something with Capcom and put out some exclusive games as well they could really boost the line-up and draw more people in.

 

Nintendo has allowed games like Resident Evil and Bayonetta on their platform ''kid games'' aren't the only things they sell anymore.

 

I wouldn't classify 2 games...or however few there are....made by 3rd party companies as "they don't only make kids games anymore".

 

Nintendo would be a good fit for Capcom because it allows Nintendo to appeal to more than just the casual gamer.

MS is a good fit for Capcom because it would give them a good presence in Japan.

Does Sony really have the bankroll to scoop up Capcom? Sure but they have so many other business ventures I cant see them kicking out the dough for it.

A third party publisher like EA, Ubisoft and maybe even a non gaming company might take a chance on Capcom.
