Could Microsoft buy capcom

With MS being on this franchise revival kick lately they might breathe new life into capcom by bringing back franchises we've all been clamoring for instead of running resident evil and street fighter into the dirt.

 

I would love to see them bring the Breath Of Fire series back from the grave, as Breath Of Fire II was one of my favorite games.

It'd definitely bump the Xbox exclusives category quite a bit, but I don't know if it'd be a great investment for Microsoft. Capcom as it is now is aimless and not quite sure what it's doing and would need a huge overhaul.

That said, having Resident Evil be exclusive would immediately make Xbox about 100X more popular in Japan.

 

It would be good for MS and Capcom cause Capcom has no money really for these big games. But you know who does MS. It would be a win, win for MS. As long has MS let Capcom make there games the way they want. Now the real question is will they Who knows in
till we get more news.

 

MS could buy Capcom (hell, they could even buy Sony if they really wanted to....but that's whole different story).

But why would they - surely it's cheaper to pay for exclusives than it is to buy a studio. Also sometimes the problem with buying game studios is that the real creative genius lies in one of two developer/designers - and once they leave (usually to form
their own studio...like Respawn) then the game studio isn't a great asset. Would the back catalogue (which is all they'll really have) be worth the investment?

 

I hope Capcom is never tied to any one console manufacturer. It would be nice if Sega/Sammy bought them or something other than Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft buying them.

 

Just the thought of Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Mega Man, etc. being only on Xbox and PC just blows my mind. I know we've been having plenty of HD remakes, but I would love a Resident Evil 4 remastered for Xbox One. Imagine Street Fighter vs. Killer Instinct.
So many possibilities...

Hello everyone

The Resident Evil series needs to go back to its roots in my opinion because there is no tension at all when you can simply just shoot everything that dare gets in your way.

On my first playthrough of the Dead Space series, the tension was nerve racking. However, after first playthrough the upgraded gear / collected ammo turnes the games into a fun "jump" driven adventure (which I still like LOL)
