    Could be coincidence but most of my apps and games are missing from my external ssd drive...


    Most of my apps and games are missing from my external SSD. The odd thing is that the games I've recently played are still on the drive. Also my groups and all of the app icons are still being maintained on the drive. It also shows all of the storage being
    used and not available. I've tried a reboot. I've also tried a hard reset. The odd thing is why would the five games I've recently played still be available on the drive? If the drive went bad then this shouldn't happen. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot?
    It could be a coincidence but everything went south after the 9/15 update was applied. Maybe they want me to buy the new Xbox? Lol...

    Okay I managed to fix the problem. I disconnected my external SSD from my xbox and allowed the app to install on my xbox’s hard disk drive. Everything else on my SSD doesn’t seem to be compromised as well which is odd.

    Don't be fooled into buying an external SSD, most are far too expensive for what they are. I'm not saying not to buy an SSD though.

    The cheapest option is to make your own. All you need is a standard 2.5" SSD and an external USB 3.0 drive enclosure. SSD's on their own work out a lot cheaper and a Drive enclosure costs only $10. External SSD use the same tech, just in a glued together
    case.

    It's not complicated either. Putting an SSD hard drive in an enclosure is as easy as changing batteries in a TV remote.

    My external SSD is a 2.5" Corsair MX500 SSD drive.

    SSD keeps needing reconnected after turning on Xbox One console. Any ideas why?

    Never got that issue on my external hdds. I have connected 3 drives. None of them had that issue ever. Even a external ssd shouldnt work that way. I guess it could be an issue with your ssd itself..

    Update wiped my hard drive

    so with the preview update, that zapped my 360 drive. but i was not playing that many games on it anymore, most of my important saves were backed up to a flash drive. will have to download games again. tried to see if file recovery was possible, but the
    files have been corrupted with the factory reset.

    but i will be getting an external SSD drive for my one, seen the benchmark tests on a SSD hooked to a one and there are seconds saved with loading times.
