    Could a game that freeze stop working damage the console?


    Hi!

    I have xbox one x and wonder if it could make any damage to the console when a game freeze/stop working?

    Then you push xbox button to end the game and you get back to desktop (do not need to force restart)

    So the console itself do not freeze since it respond and you can end the frozen game.

    I playing metro exodus on second last chapter, to get here it have freeze around 5-6 times last two weeks (known issue)

    Forza horizon also froze the other day, same thing on forza on my sons one x it happen one time yesterday.

    Appriciate some answers on this Could a game that freeze stop working damage the console? :)

    What do you mean with power cycle? Have never done it before i believe :)

    How often do you power cycle your xbox?

    Try doing it at least once a week. Power cycling can resolve so many problems people don't realise

    My game freezes sometimes but my console works fine. And I haven't read anywhere about game/s freezing causes any damage to your Xbox. It just frustrating when it happens.

    It shouldn't effect your console specifically however game crashes can lead to corrupt save files if the game were to crash while saving.

    Nope, it wouldn’t damage the console at all, for starters that is a software issue. You’ll be fine
