  1. Couch Co Ops

I recently purchased the Xbox one console for my children. They were so excited and I had saved up for months to be able to afford it. I spoke with Microsoft employees several times to be sure that I knew what I was purchasing.

    THEY LIED TO ME!

I talked about how much my kids liked to play the games on our current console and that it was a good time for them to sit side by side and compete during various games.

NO ONE told me how few games there are that they can play side by side. Just exactly do you expect of the working class Microsoft?!!! Do you believe that we can afford such costly games and consoles for each of our children?!

I saved and saved for this and am so disappointed that they are not able to play many of the games together. I feel taken advantage of and the children who were so excited to be able to play together are disappointed that they basically have to take turns.
Way to further the downfall of socialization among today's youth Microsoft! They can no longer share a couch and laugh and play together. Shame on your employees for not telling me about this shortcoming. I will NEVER buy another Microsoft console. Play station
(or whatever comes around) may well find another loyal customer!

COME UP WITH MORE GAMES THAT KIDS CAN PLAY ON THE SAME CONSOLE YOU MONEY GRUBBING DIRTBAGS! I will be sure to tell EVERYONE WHO EVER ASKS about this shortcoming unless you start to right by those of us who spend so much for your substandard gaming experience.

    :)

    Couch Co Ops

Who would have thought that the lack of, or perceived lack of, co-op games on a video game system could effect children in such a negative way? Mind=Blown.

This is more on the heads of the delevopers, not the console makers. There are always Lego games that are couch co-op, Killer Instinct, either way, PlayStation won't be any better, Wii U might have been a better choice.

  9. Can't Minecraft be played couch co-op together on an HD tv? How about Terraria? If so that's all you need because no other game will exist to them...also Mom/Dad did you know that the Xbox One has only been out a little over a year now so it's still building
it's game base...Researching is an amazing experience and Google does it well.

  10. The OP is out of his mind, I think - there's plenty of couch co-op games on the XB1!

Some couch co-op games that haven't already been mentioned also include Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Peggle 2, Fantasia Music Evolved, and Rayman Legends with numerous others.

    Couch Co Ops

I'm not sure about Minecraft Xbox 1 Edition but with the 360 Edition you can split screen play. Minecraft is popular with kids and young peps. Even my friends uncle and grand parents play the game. It pays to do research before buying, watch Youtube videos,
visit the official Xbox feedback user voice website, Google it, Wikipedia it. Did you talk to Xbox Support about it, or some peps who said they work for Microsoft. Microsoft is a big company with different divisions. Xbox is one of them, Skype is another.
Again it pays to do research, especially when you're going to fork out quite a bit for it. The Microsoft employees who work in the Xbox division and Xbox Support, are likely to be more knowledgeable about the Xbox brand the staff who work in possibly other
divisions of Microsoft. Then again you could be dealing with a trainee staff person on Xbox Support. Xbox Support has been good in my experience.

Xbox can be an expensive hobby. But if you do your research evaluate your own circumstances including schedule and finances, and manage to get it and the games, it can be a lot of fun. It beats smoking alcohol and drugs. I think Kinect Sports Rivals (which
requires a Kinect) may also be co-op capable too. Perhaps not "couch co-op". But kids and young peps do get a blast of jumping around. I think Monopoly Plus is also couch co-op as well. I just got the game today and you can play locale game on it. It's like
Monopoly comes to life in HD. The game is NZ$24 and My Monopoly which allows you to custom design the game's playing track and centre on marketplace is NZ$14 as part of a DLC add on.

  15. If more people would come in here to ask questions before spending ~ $400 and do adequate research that befits the cost they will incur [even if it isn't here], there would be less needless crying threads like this. OP doesn't deserve a slap in the face...
OP deserves a boot in the ***.

    Number of players

First depends of the game, then you need to know if is a splitscreen game or a "couch co-op" (couch co-op doesnt use splitscreen, are like FIFA, PES,...)

If is a splitscreen, probably the general max players should be 2 and for "couch co-op" seems to be 6.

The numbers you talk, as been said above "18", are the max but in online co-op (could vary from game to game).

Is there a reason the Xbox store doesn't seem to know what "couch co-op" means?

The category is literally called couch-coop on the store here on Xbox Canada. If it was called local I wouldnt be asking since couch co-op implies you're sitting with someone, hence why I'm wondering if they're going to title the category COUCH co-op it should only include games like that.

"Only people use couch co-op" people make the category titles as well.

    Lack of couch co-op

    @Enen

They have managed it before. I mean the old COD games had couch co-op. Granted not all games and/or modes areviable for couch co-op but i think devs could do more to incorporate into their games somehow.

I think MS wanted all couch co-op games to be kinect powered lol.
