Cortana

No ive looked on WPcentral forums and its also the language. Ive changed my locale on my phone but cant change the language on HTC 8X to English US

 

Why can you not change the language?

 

ON HTC 8x outside the US the default language is locked on the Rom to english Uk

 

Dammit... I've got an 8x..

 

This is just in the developer preview as Cortana is only in beta inside the US once the update is available for every one I would assume more localisation options will be made available

 

So is this not working as intended then whilst in beta? I'm a little lost... (shock)

 

It is working as intended within US only. I am trying to trick my phone into thinking its in the US so I can play with cortana

 

Yeah, it works perfectly if you're in the US - and you can get it to work if you can change certain settings from UK to US too.

Everything else in the Preview works fine elsewhere in the world.

 

Ah right! Well I don't got a phone that can work this anyhow so I am out. Though if they brought out a cortana style phone to go with the app, I would get it at low cost. I am just too cheap skate to get one of these fancy 200 quid phones that break when
they get sat on :/

or when playing flappy bird...

I don't get why companies don't do a proper blokes tariff, 5 minutes, 10 txts and no incoming calls.

 

Thats why I have the above tarrif dont use talk minutes at all. its always texts

 

Same here if I do ever actually use the thing to talk the call duration is no longer than 30 to 40 seconds!
