  2. OneGuide for Rogers PVR (Canada)

When using a voice command to go to a specific channel (xbox, watch comedy network), it changes to the correct channel but it brings up the Rogers PVR search window which blocks the screen. Then i need to press "EXIT" on the Rogers PVR remote, which essentially
negates the voice command feature because I need the remote in hand any way.

I would assume the voice command invokes an IR blast to the remote which is making the remote hit multiple buttons. Any thoughts? Other than that, the TV integration is fantastic, I just cant use a voice command to change channels yet

  3. Cortana Voice Commands

I’m aware of Kinect utilizing Cortana commands. But with Kinect being discontinued, I’d imagine that such functionality is still a part of the OS. So how is this functionality being utilized?

I’d like to use the Xbox One for content consumption and my TV upstairs uses Google TV which has a remote that you can use Voice Commands with.

Any remotes that do this with Xbox One? Or has there been any word of a new Media Remote that has a mic for Cortana Voice Commands? Or is picking up a second hand Kinect the only option?

Cannot get Xbox to control TV

    Hi there,

Thanks for the reply. In reference to the type of remote it looks like the manufacturer is PDP. The troubleshooting resources sent are in reference to the

    Xbox One Media Remote
. If you would like more assistance please visit the
Talon Media Remote – PDP North America Support.

As far as Cortana on the Xbox, you can control OneGuide with voice commands. Make sure to set up and calibrate your Kinect for audio. For more information, see

Calibrate the microphone on your Kinect sensor
. You can even use a headset microphone to give Cortana voice commands.

    Notes

    • You can see a list of available commands onscreen at any time by saying “Hey Cortana, what can I say?” If there’s no microphone icon in the upper-right corner of the screen, your Xbox is not listening. You’ll need to get its attention by
repeating “Hey Cortana” before issuing your command.
    • Voice commands are not available in all regions. For a list of Xbox One features and the regions where they’re available, see

      Xbox One Feature Availability
      .

    Hope this helps.

Revert to an actual working Xbox voice command mode

I specifically said I turned off Cortana because it doesn't work at all, if you turn on Cortana and say, "Hey Cortana Select" while in Netflix it does absolutely nothing. If you say "Hey Cortana Next List" it chooses to Google Next List rather than go to
the next list. I want to go back to the built in Xbox voice commands that used to work, but after disabling Cortana, they only partially work. How do I get that feature to work again?

Cortana Voice Commands Through Headset in Next Update

Seems not all features of Cortana will be available just using a chat mic

    www.xboxoneuk.com/.../new-update-now-available-for-preview-members-2

Here are a few of the things Cortana can do:

Cortana supports natural language instead of the use of specific phrases or commands. Just say “Hey Cortana” and ask her a question or give her a command!

Use Cortana and voice commands from your headset; no Kinect needed!

Kinect owners can ask Cortana about things like time, weather, and sports scores. For example:

“Hey Cortana, what time is it”?

“Hey Cortana, will I need a jacket today?

“Hey Cortana, did the Golden State Warriors win yesterday?”

    Free Kinect Adapter?

Support told me they can't even offer to sell me one, and with some of the physical issues I have I honestly need it as I use voice control more than the controllers or remote due to problems keeping them in my hands when I have my bad muscle tremors/spasms.
It is possible to use Cortana voice commands via a headset with microphone when it's connected to the controller as well now.
