    Cortana Ruined The Voice Commands


    Is there a way to uninstall Cortana from the Xbox ONE? It's ruining everything I enjoyed about using the voice commands and the convenience of running everything through my Xbox. Is there a way to turn "her" off?

    Hi

    If you go into the settings section and disable Cortana the console will switch back to the legacy Xbox voice commands.

    support.xbox.com/.../cortana-voice-commands

    "Revert to Xbox commands

    If, for whatever reason, Cortana isn’t what you want, you have the option to go back to the original voice control model using the "Xbox" command. When you switch, here’s what you’ll lose:

    Headset voice control

    Expanded commands and voice recognition

    Voice-to-text input (dictation)

    You can bring back Cortana at any time.

    To revert to the original voice control model:

    Double-tap the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Settings > All settings.

    Select System > Cortana settings.

    In the snapped window on the right, highlight the On switch, and press the A button to turn it to Off."

    "Xbox Go to Settings" voice command does not work after fresh reboot.

    Hi there, Arthurhahnmiles.

    If you try enabling
    Cortana voice commands    , are you able to bring up the Settings menu using "Hey Cortana, go to Settings"?

    Absolutely with this new update they is yes!

    Got to : Settings>All Settings> System> Cortana Settings> Click A on the On switch to turn her off.

    The Xbox will restart to take the change into effect and this reverts back to using 'Xbox'

    Thanks for coming to the forums. Cortana was disable quite a while ago. It does explain how to enable Alexa for voice commands when you go to the Cortana settings.
    "Cortana is no longer supported on Xbox one. To continue using voice commands, enable digital assistants in settings and try the Xbox skill for Alexa, or use Xbox voice commands with Kinect sensor."
