Cortana reminders not working?

I noticed a few days ago that the Cortana app refuses to set reminders on command. Everytime I say 'Hey Cortana, remind me to _____' it now asks if I want to search for that, rather than setting a reminder. Unfortunately from what I can tell, setting a
reminder manually is not as convenient as it only allows a certain amount of time on the notice, i.e. 10 minutes, 30 minutes, etc. Any idea why this is happening? It was working fine for me last week, and I actually use this feature a lot.

my Cortana wishlist

I'd love to see the ability come to Cortana to add Spanish as a spoken - and understood, obviously. While this isn't the biggest thing in the world for me (although it is fun simply because I'm bilingual), I can see it being a big thing for parents that may
not know English, or only know limited English.

Another thing I'd like to see come to Cortana is the ability to add things to Shopping/Grocery/To do lists, similar to what you can now do on Android phones - and I'm guessing Windows phones as well. Again, this isn't the most major of things, although
just the idea of being able to tell Cortana to add something ONCE to a list and it be there on your phone.... that's something neat to think about. Yes, yes, supposedly with this upcoming Spring 2017 update we'll be gaining the ability for Cortana that allows
her to add reminders. Still cool, but aside from having her make calendar events, the various lists are where it's at for me now.
