Cortana & one guide

I haven't used Cortana for a few months, maybe closer to a year. I turned it off as it kept picking up random conversations and screwing up my games.

After the recent update last week I figured I'd give it a shot again. Now I've found that it works better except it will not control one guide.

I tell Cortana turn on the Xbox, then to watch TV, then to watch Fox for example. It works too turn on the TV and start the one guide/tv app, but won't change channels. It will control there tv to turn the volume up or down.

What am I missing or is this another defect with Cortana?

Hey Cortana Bugs

I'm running into the issue where I say "Hey Cortana watch Nick Jr." or "Hey Cortana watch Disney Jr" and she recognizes the speech, but just says "try Watch tv". She does recognize "Hey Cortana watch ESPN". I've tried manually changing to these through
one guide and they're both favorites.

Cortana hears us a lot better, just won't change channels sadly.

Cortana cannot "Snap TV"

Hey there ootmian,

What happens if you say "Hey Cortana, Snap Live TV" or "Hey Cortana, Snap OneGuide"? The Live TV option via the HDMI In on the Xbox One console is now accessed through One Guide, so getting to it might be a little bit different.

It seems other than turning on/off the console and opening applications all other Cortana functionality has been removed. I did successfully play songs on Plex today, but navigating through the application was impossible, and as you said changing channels
and such, which used to work flawlessly, doesn't work at all now. I actually get better TV functionality through a Frontier Alexa app than I do through Cortana. Not sure how Microsoft screwed this up so badly, they had a major win and threw it all away it
seems.

Please see instructions below

1. Cortana is only available in the US and UK at the moment.

2. Cortana is only available to consoles running the latest software. If my games and apps is in the top right of the homescreen then you are probably running the latest version of Xbox software.

3. From the guide on the left Select Settings/All settings/System/Cortana settings and check the little Cortana slider is set to on.

4. The correct voice command to use for Cortana is "Hey Cortana"
