Cortana on XBOX ONE

    I Do not like this. it is slow, I have to says "Hey Cortana" for commands instead of simple Xbox

    It don't connect half the time. I spent 10 min trying to get to home. Cortana tells me the internet is not working so try again later. what does the internet have to do with going home. this sux. once Cortana stop responding its all over I cant do anything
    until I restart... This is slow and stupid to put on a game console. I bought a GAME console for a reason. I have a computer to look up things and a mobile phone to talk to I DONT need this Cortana thing on my XBOX is it don't work as easy as saying XBOX
    go Home/ XBOX watch syfy and how about a simple XBOX pause... No I have to fight with Cortana now to pause my show.. this don't work so I have to rewind and pause.. So much for a quick pause to answer the phone or the door... This was stupid guys... You should
    at least let ppl pick if that want that PC thing on the console... Stop forcing me to use stuff I don't want or need... and you wonder why PS4 is killing it. I hate PlayStation (I have a PS4) but MS is really messing up IMO

    How do I turn off the Cortana popup messages?

    Hey there Ravenclawln4ks,

    To use normal "Xbox" commands on the Xbox Console you'll just need to disable Cortana. That should remove any Cortana popup messages on the console as well, here's the steps to do that. How to

    Xbox One Cortana Says She Didn't Hear Anything, but she heard me say Hey Cortana

    Cortana on Xbox One has stopped working suddenly. I can still wake up the Xbox with Cortana, but once on, every time I say 'Hey Cortana', the Cortana box opens and immediately says "Sorry about that, I didn't hear anything" then closes.

    Anyone know what's going on and how to fix it?

    Yep, like when Cortana searches for "Leave the party" on Bing. It takes you to the store anytime you mention "Game", "Library", or "Music".

    Seriously, just use the controller. The only thing I see Cortana being useful for is snapping apps because that is a pain to do anyway.

    Assistants not working

    Cortana is no longer available on Xbox One consoles. This means you won’t be able to issue voice commands to Cortana using your headset or Kinect.

    Just follow these instructions



    1. Open the Settings app on your Xbox One console.
    2. Navigate to the System tab.
    3. Select Cortana Settings. Cortana will snap as an overlay to the right-hand side of the screen.
    4. Select the toggle labeled Cortana can give you suggestions, ideas, reminders, alerts and more.
    5. Press the A button to switch Cortana off. You will be prompted that your Xbox will require a restart for this change to take effect.
    6. Select Restart console. Your Xbox One will reboot with the legacy voice commands enabled instead of Cortana.
