    . After seeing Xbox advertising works with Alexa on my screen, I was gifted a Harmon Kardon Invoke speaker with Cortana, and I bought one.

    With the Xbox off, if I say "Hey, Cortana turn on the Xbox." I get a varied and sundry list of "OK." then, "I'm still working on it." and then finally , "I cant do that right now, try again later." However, if the Xbox is on I can ask Cortana to do anything
    on the Xbox. FYI: Playing Halo whilst this speaker has it's Microphone on can cause interesting conversations.

    I have pestered MSFT Xbox help and Adrian is a nice guy, but he didn't have a clue what an Invoke speaker with Cortana was. He had to look it up on the US Microsoft Store to find it. We went back and forth, had a nice chat over the phone. FYI having this
    speaker's mic on whilst saying "Cortana" every minute or two can be quite maddening.

    I have even went so far as to look up Cortana on Twitter. Alas anyone that worked on or with Cortana on Twitter has seemed to move on to Surface. Not Surface Phone mind you, just the Surface. Which Cortana will turn on my Xbox from.

    Anyone out there have any ideas on how to get Cortana in the speaker to work with Cortana on the Xbox via the network? Or something.

    Please, Harmon Kardon did not make the AI for the speaker it made the speaker, and put the AI in it as supplied by MSFT.

    I've only run into this a couple times after I've used the Gamepass app to do a remote install, otherwise my Invoke has been incredibly reliable with the Xbox.

    I'd agree with Erick, this is probably due to Instant On power settings.

    Hey there Didier,

    Sorry to hear you are running into this problem. If you have not already taking a look at the Power modeon your Xbox go ahead and look through your Settings and make sure that you have the

    Power mode set to Instant-on    . If the commands are working while the console is on then they should work to power on the Xbox, but if the settings are set to energy-saving then while the console is turned off it is completely shut off and will not take any
    commands through cortana.

    You can use the Xbox Skill for Cortana via the Cortana app on iOS, Android, and Windows or via Harmon Kardon Invoke speaker to power your Xbox One, adjust volume, launch games and apps, capture screenshots, and more —just as you can do with Alexa-enabled
    devices today.
    It would seem like yes, but, if anyone from skip ahead knows I'm interested.

    Cortana Invoke xbox one skill doesn't stay paired

    I had this issue, disconnect the Xbox skill in Cortana, factory reset your Invoke and then add the Xbox Skill back. Been working like a champ every since. Good luck.

    This is not what I was lead to believe. I thought all external assistants would work, including Windows 10 cortana and invoke cortana. This is plainly ridiculous why depreciate something that works and replace it with a solution from Google or Amazon on
    a Microsoft product? Cortana hasn't been updated to reflect this change, nor the skills pages nor xbox online help information.

    I thought Cortana was merely being removed from being part of the xbox OS.
