Cortana not showing correct city when asking for the weather.

So I updated my console his morning, super stoked to get Cortana on my Xbox, and ran into an issue with location and weather requests through Cortana.

Whenever I say "hey Cortana, what's the weather?" it shows me and tells me weather for Trenton, Michigan, and Iive in Orrville, Ohio.

I spoke with an agent with Xbox for over an hour about it. She ran me through troubleshooting that included disabling and re-enabling location under Settings>Cortana>Location. She also had me clear the perquisites storage for Blu-ray. I have tried disabling
and enabling "nearby cities" under "Notebook>Weather" in Cortana, I have added Orrville, Ohio to my "Cities to track" and have "track cities" enabled. I have weather and cards enabled.

For a second I thought maybe location for Cortana is IP determined, but that wouldn't make any sense because I looked up my IP and it's a California IP address.

I also opened Microsoft Edge on my Xbox One, searched "weather", and it gave me weather for Detroit, Michigan. I clicked on "change", made it Orrville, Ohio in hopes that maybe bings search for weather was linked to Cortana search on the Xbox, but it turned
out to not change a think in Cortana on the Xbox either.

I'm all out of options, and my OCD is driving me insane with this issue. Am I the only one experiencing this, or does anyone know a fix?

Hey Cortana Bugs

Hey Cortana is an awesome feature but there are few bugs that need to be addressed. Here are some that I found:

While watching TV:

- Hey Cortana Watch "Channel Name" doesn't always work. Instead of changing channel, it does a bing search. For eg: Hey Cortana watch HBO gave me search result for Watch HBO. Sometimes it does change channel, but most of the time it is returning bing search.

- The channel shortcut list (green colored channel list on right) doesn't show up everytime when channel is changed. Earlier it used to show up until xbox stopped listening.

General:

- There are some commands that are not working properly like "Hey Cortana, whats the weather right now" or "Hey Cortana, is it going to rain today". This works sometimes but mostly returns bing search.

- The notebook on Cortana is not working properly. If I want to add anything to track (like stocks, city for weather), i get the keyboard to type but hitting enter doesn't do anything. So, it is not possible to add anything to notebook at all.

- Once Hey Cortana is activated, it remains snapped even after it stops listening and has to be manually unsnapped. It would be good to automatically unsnap after the command is executed.

Here are a few of the things Cortana can do:

Cortana supports natural language instead of the use of specific phrases or commands. Just say “Hey Cortana” and ask her a question or give her a command!

Use Cortana and voice commands from your headset; no Kinect needed!

Kinect owners can ask Cortana about things like time, weather, and sports scores. For example:

“Hey Cortana, what time is it”?

“Hey Cortana, will I need a jacket today?

“Hey Cortana, did the Golden State Warriors win yesterday?”

 

No, it's not just you, although for me the location was correct but now it's not. This affects weather and the time. It's annoying as he'll. Have not found a way to fix it yet.

Are you in the Xbox One Preview by chance? If so, this might be something you'll want to post about in the Preview Program Forums.

Another step would be to try uninstalling the weather app and reinstalling it to see if that helps out if you haven't done so already.
