Cortana is the worst decision ever made

Ive just downloaded the latest update for preview members, and the cortana feature seemed like a great improvement at first. But after using it, I very much do believe this is the worst it gets. Now I understand that it is not completely ready for use, but
just using it is so much of a pain. I have to say "hey cortana" instead of just Xbox. Which pretty much makes it stupid enough in the first place. Why get rid of something that works so well? I also have to deal with this Siri knockoff that seriously just
makes me mad. I don't know why you've decided to do this. Whenever I even say hey cortana, it doesn't do anything. Even when it does it doesn't listen to what I say after that, I have to wait to let it " warm up". Apparently warming up takes over an hour.
Then ince it's done, I have to wait even more. After I say hey cortana and it finally wants to listen, I cannot just say what I want immediately, I have to wait for the scrambling letters to appear. Saying "xbox reord that" was my favorite part about owing
a Kinect, now I have to say "hey cortana, record that" it feels so odd to have to say that. Then I have to wait for it to finally record it, by the time that happens, what I wanted to record, has already gone away. PLEASE GIVE US THE OPTION TO TURN OFF CORTANA.

I would guarantee that Microsoft is not launching a console on Black Friday. That would be the worst decision ever!

 

Which Halo has the hardest difficulty?

That level "Cortana" in Halo 3 was the hardest I've ever tried! Holy sh*t, it was brutal!!!

 

You're testing it...give feedback in the appropriate forum or though the console. The preview isn't, "Hah! I get cool things that work perfectly. Eat it losers that don't have it!"; it's helping shape features/tweaks (Sometimes broken.) so when it releases
to the general public it works.

I'll agree that "Hey Cortana" is for the most part...broken; even re-calibrated Kinect to see if that would help. They need to shorten it to "Cortana", though when playing Halo it could pose a problem. I preferred just saying "X Box".

I hate Cortana as it is but it is in the early stages.That's the point of the preview program,to give feedback so they can improve things before general release.

I do understand that it is still under work, I even mentioned that in my original post. I am complaining about how they messed up the system that didn't need fixing in the first place.

 

Actually... KINECT not being an option at launch... is the worst decision ever made.

The worst would be Windows 10, and the 2nd worst is MS trying to shove it down your neck even after you said you didn't want it.

IMO. They should have priced it at $90 and then "accidentally" made it free. Everyone on the planet would download it then. lol

 

True, to an extint. However, some would educate themselves and after doing so. Wouldn't touch it it even if MS paid them to.

 

I don't like that it is slower, but I like the direction it is going in.

To be honest all the other updates are quite good.It's just Cortana that's the problem.

I do agree with the op,it wasn't needed & I suspect the option to go back to the old voice commands will be added.

 

Hm, well I'm not sure how I feel about this.

In a way it sounds great I would no longer have the fear of saying "moldy socks" and my Xbox One Opening the One Guide (or something else) but then again, I already unplugged the pos Kinect.

I rarely if never use a Mic any longer so I don't really think I would have much use for this Feature in any way. I haven't checked if the Update is available yet. I do wonder what new words would have huge caution marks and no say zone in my room where my
Xbox is at now though, "more potatoes"?
