Cortana is dead so what am I meant to use now?

As the title says really. I've got to say, I find it really annoying when Microsoft do stuff like this. They didn't tell me Cortana is no longer on xbox, why I can't just continue to use it as it was, I don't know.

What am I meant to do for voice control now?

They made a big song and dance about it on release, now almost everything in the world has voice control, Microsoft take that function away!

The worst thing is, I had to find out myself by googling it. They could at least have sent xbox users a message to say it was no longer available and a suggestion for another voice control app.

I use it to do stuff like dictate messages, send party invites and game invites, join other people's games, etc when I walk through the living room without the TV even on sometimes l, then when I return a few mins later I'm already set up to go.

What voice control app or program, or whatever the hell the current buzz word is, should I use?

You can but only thru a third party device or a mobile device for alexa or google now

For cortana the mobile app works fine

I threw my kinect away when I upgraded to xb1x. I've been using the headset for commands for a few years.

I've enabled digital assistants but can't see any voice command programs in the store.

I don't have and don't want anything complicated. I literally just want it to do voice commands and write text.

I'm not comfortable with giving some third party company access to my data, I want to keep it all within the realms of Microsoft.

Is there a direct line or complaints procedure I can file a complaint with Microsoft about this?

Thank you for your help, sorry if I'm coming across a bit pissy, this has made me really angry! It was literally one of the first features they mentioned in all the xbox one blurb, they ramned kinect and voice control down on everyones throats, then they
remove it!!! 😡

Since Cortana was disabled for Xbox consoles, now it seems your best option is to use Cortana (iOS or Android App), Google Assistant (Google Home), or Alexa (Amazon Echo) enabled devices, or you could issue voice commands to your Xbox using Kinect. All the

Thanks for coming to the forums. Cortana was disable quite a while ago. It does explain how to enable Alexa for voice commands when you go to the Cortana settings.
"Cortana is no longer supported on Xbox one. To continue using voice commands, enable digital assistants in settings and try the Xbox skill for Alexa, or use Xbox voice commands with Kinect sensor."
