    Cortana is buggy on XBOX One S


    I contacted XBOX Customer Support and spent over an hour troubleshooting my Kinect and the Cortana app on my XBOX One S with the technician Ana.

    As per our call today, please follow these instructions to resolve your issue:
    Cortana Voice Commands on Xbox One.

    The problem seems to be with Cortana. Hey Cortana does not always respond and will turn off but will not turn on the console. We tried removing Cortana and using XBOX commands and had more success but the console would still not turn on using the XBOX turn
    on command.

    The technician Ana thinks that there is an issue with Cortana possibly on XBOX One S and told me that an upgrade should fix the problem.

    Does anyone have similar problems using voice commands with Cortana and especially with the XBOX One S?

    Any remedies?

    When i try active cortana on xbox one s it say me that not availe for my region setting , when cortana will be avaible for ITALIA ????

    Having a issues with Kinect "xbox on" command and "instant-on" feature

    Update: I tried switching to Cortana and saying "Hey Cortana, Xbox On," "Hey Cortana, turn on," and "Hey Cortana, turn the xbox on" several times and none of those commands worked. They used to work perfectly with Cortana on my old Xbox.

    At this point, I think there is either something wrong with my machine or that the Xbox One S does not support "Xbox On" commands. I think maybe the Kinect microphone is not active when the Xbox is off. Perhaps a problem with the implementation of the USB
    port or the Kinect Adaptor.

    Why is the experience of using Cortana getting worse with every Xbox One Update?

    I went into settings and changed it back to 'xbox' instead of 'hey cortana' as soon as it got changed to cortana. it still works as well as it always did, which was never great. microsoft won't admit to abandoning cortana. but they certainly abandoned
    Kinect. as of September 2018, there is amazon alexa integration with xbox. which should give you an idea how invested microsoft is or isn't in cortana on xbox. I don't have an xbox one S, but I don't even think it has cortana.

    Cortana, what the heck?!

    Sometimes saying "Hey" is just enough. I'd simply leave it disabled. I don't find voice commands to be useful unless I'm feeling lazy lol. Its probably just a bug.

    I would recommend reporting it in the Insider Hub anyways just so it can get looked at. Often times I feel as if Cortana and the other Xbox voice commands to be buggy at best. This link may be useful https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/cortana-voice-commands

    I turned it off right away. I hated how unresponsive it is. I went back to the old style voice commands via kinect instead. Shame too, I was super excited for Cortana but it turned out to be slow and buggy.
