Cortana Fail on XBox One

Why can't you build in the typical TV control language like "pause" or "turn off" into the software part of Cortana? When Cortana fails with oh so helpful messages such as "my connection to the internet is funky" I have to walk over to the controller, wake
it up, and press a button.

It is without a doubt the single greatest evidence that your user experience team is asleep at the wheel. Which specific genius requires everything to go to the internet with Cortana. It makes me want to rip my XBox One out of the entertainment system
and boot up my old XBox 360, but you've probably broken that by now too, right?

When you talk to devices like Siri and Amazon Echo at least they fail better.

It is a dereliction of your duty to consumers to have your product continue you fail as badly as it does. I'm sure you hope to fix this, but in the meantime, listen to the slew of four letter expletives I'm hurling your way through Cortana. I'd say you
have them stored in Azure somewhere, but I guess my connection to the internet was funky.

Voice command

Cortana Commands work while machine is on however,when the console is off the "The Hey Cortana,Xbox on" command fails to work. How can I fix this? The console is in start up mode.

Cortana on Xbox 1 isn't very good. Even Siri and Google Now, are way better AI personal assistants, on your phone. Siri and Google Now can answer silly childish questions in a humorous way. You can even program Google Now using Google Translator to say swear
words and stuff in English and other languages and write in Google Translator what you want Google Now to say, funny if you like messing around with a girl computer voice. The full Windows 10 PC version of Cortana is better, but the Xbox 1 version of Cortana
is extremely limited with what the Xbox 1 Cortana is programmed to do. Yes we have a digital personal assistant on Xbox 1, be grateful for that, but it is very basic. I think there are people out there who were expecting a better job from Microsoft, since
Microsoft is the biggest software company in the world, yet Google and Apple have better interpersonal AI digital assistants on phones.

 

O and to be funny, some peeps have weird relationship with their devices (phones, Cortana, etc). Someone else wrote that on this forum a few years ago, and I found it funny. Yes I think you should have the option to put an AI on a machine and for it to interact
back to you verbally. There is nothing abnormal about this, and I think I'll get some smart comments about this. ALL humans are born with a social need. Even if your shy. Developing technology can help do this. So it makes sense to create devices which can
talk back to us and have some F.U.N
